Limos

Limos

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on here for a long time...we're in the process of buying a house, ON TOP of wedding planning, so there's a lot going on. Anyway, we were thinking of NOT having limos for our wedding party. We're cutting costs wherever possible, and one of my friends did this with her wedding. We feel like limos are a huge expense that could easily be cut out, but is this totally tacky?? Coincidentally, each person from our wedding party has a significant other who is not in the party and would be driving anyway.

Re: Limos

are you taking pictures at the RH or somewhere else?

the only thing is that whether you take pics at the RH or elsewhere, that they will need a ride there to take bp pics with you so just know that you will have your whole bp there along with all their dates if you don't mind and their SO doesnt mind since they have to wait around for 2 hours or so. If you are taking pics at the RH then maybe talk to them to provide drinks and hors dourves while they wait.

ALso, are you asking the girls to come to your house the morning of? will their SO drop them off and then pick them up or will they drive to you, but then drive to the church themselves too? would they have to leave their car there? but thn that doesnt make sense and in this scenario they would have their cars and so would their SO, better off they got dropped off to you then maybe

Re: Limos

Thanks for the response! That's a lot I didn't really think through!

We are taking pictures at the reception hall. The rough plan is that the bridal party (two are from out of state, so they'd be with me most likely anyway) would all meet at my mom's house in Islip. Four out of my 7 can't even drive yet, so their parents would bring them and stay, or just drop them off. I figured that most of the parents would like to stay just to watch their daughters getting ready, so once everyone was ready, they would just ride with their family. My sister and my two friends could easily ride with one of my aunts, my parents, or if their significant other waited around. And the same goes with my FH's side...all of them have a SO who is driving, so they could get dropped off where FH is getting ready, and people could carpool to the RH. We have 14 in our BP, but 3 are younger than 3, and two are 13-14. I just feel like a limo is not necessary since we're really only going from my mom's house to the RH, and everything is being done there.
