Company A) Good rep, lots of recommendations, ok price.
Company B) not as well known (can't find any reviews good OR bad). I got a 25% off first booking certificate from a friend who works at a vineyard that hosted some bridal show and this company was there. I would save $500.
The second limo company would be DIRT cheap with the coupon, but they are not a vendor on here and hence can't find any reviews, which I hate, but I suppose this is how the rest of the world plans weddings.
ughh.

Honestly, I'd go with B. $500 is A LOT of money to save!

I know. It's nuts. I suppose if the worst thing that happened was my limo not showing up for some reason, I could deal. We could hop in my mom's minivan! haahahhaha
I'd much more pissed if my flowers were missing or something lol.

I had a very simular situation... Here was mine: A - a family friends friend - would beat ANY price I got by 25% and throw in some extas. B - A well known company that is beating all the other quotes that I already got.
I said screw A b/c I called them time and time again, and never got a call back. Meanwhile anytime I call B they help me right away. I feel more secure paying the little extra. JMO.

Wanna FM me your company B? although I may have talked to them already haha. I'm in East Suffolk so it's hard to find good companies out here, and the Nassau companies charge you extra for travel.

yea I googled and couldn't find anything. They are an LI company but out in Suffolk where the companies tend to be smaller and less well-known.

I would google company B, and also look on the better business bureau. $500 is definitely worth looking into.
I wouldn't mind rocking my mom's minivan if the limos didn't show either.

Check for reviews on wedding wire. I love that site!

Re: Limos... what would you do?
Ok, I found TWO reviews on here after playing around with search wording.
1. No complaints. They arrived on time to pick the guys up and were easy to work with when we booked them. All of their staff is very friendly and they called us the day before to confirm everything. The only reason they’re not getting an A is because they were very late picking us up from the mansion. We actually thought that maybe someone else jumped into our limo by mistake but it turned out that the limo guy was lost and was driving around in circles looking for us. The Bourne Mansion is set back very far from Montauk Highway and it’s not something you see from the street, but still. Shouldn’t limo places be familiar with all of the wedding places on Long Island? Not even that, if they weren’t sure of the location, visit mapquest. It’s not that hard. My husband had to get on the phone and walk him through the directions to pick us up. Then, when he picked us up all he had to do was bring us back to the hotel, which is 7 minutes away because I’ve timed it. He totally brought us out of the way because he had no idea where we were going and we weren’t paying attention until I looked up and noticed we were in Sayville! It took another 15 minutes to get back.
2. I cant complain about the service. THey were prompt and clean and 2 out of 3 of the limo drivers were really nice all around. However, one limo showed up an hour before they were supposed to and now we have an outstanding bill, but I havent had a chance to call them to see if we can clear this up....And one limo driver (Obvioiusly the 'leader' of the group) did not handle the 'timing' issue with much professionalism.
Hmmm. These were from like 2004 though, isn't GPS pretty much standard in limos nowadays?

Yes, I would think all limos are now equipped with navigation systems. I think you'll be saving a significant amount of money so if you trust that they'll be on time and that everything will go smoothly, go for it. But either way, I think you should go with your gut.

Re: Limos... what would you do?
Check with Better Business Bureau first and maybe try posting on The Knot.com or something to see if you get any reviews. If it all checks out, go for it. Limos are so hit and miss though - if you can't find anyone saying they did a good job, I don't know if the $500 is worth the stress if they don't show up or are late or their cars are all busted and broken.
