So i have an appt on Saturday to look at linens and I don't really have a good idea of what I want. Our colors are black and dark red but Im not sure if black tablecloths will be too dark. Any ideas? photo?
help!
ETA: these are the centerpieces and there will be candles on the bottom and i have another centerpiece with candles on the top
ETA: I can't do gray table cloths because I have gold accents, like gold photo frames and gold fabric draped on the staircase. I wasn't sure about gold tablecloths because I didn't want the candlebras to get lost but i guess it's an option
my colors are black and white and i initially wanted black linens...when i tried it out (and also my DOC showed me pics of a wedding with all black linens) it was wayyyyyyy to dark for my taste. It made the room look smaller and very 'themey'. I suggest using more neutral colors and using your wedding colors for accents...it looked alot cleaner when I let my weddings colors to the work....thats just my opinion though

I've seen black done very elegantly but its so hard to see how it will look in the room with the lights and everyhting else.

Re: linen help
maybe they can set up a few tables for you like 3 or 4 so you can get the feel in the room. You're CP stand is crystal and gold so it'll dazzle up the dark linens on the table. you also can put some gold and crystal votive holders on the table too to give it a nice accent. I think it'll looks really nice as long as you accent it properly

Re: linen help
that was the problem i had....it looked great to me when i was looking at the table alone but all in all looking over the entire room i wasn't as pleased (it was also broad daylight so maybe my vision wasnt as accurate as it would be on the night of). either way, i decided to play it safe and do neutral tablecloth. I dont think it will ever look bad...it just depends your taste. black is always classic but its also very dark. so i guess you just have to weigh out the options and go with your gut. i also think the above post regarding gray tablecloths is a great option.

yea, the tables with these centerpieces will have 3 or 4 votives per table and then I have about 7 tables that have a 3 tier candle stand with 3 pillars at the top and flowers at the base which will also illuminate the room. This photo isn't the stand the the candles at the top are arranged this way, but very tall
that's gonna be pretty, what color candles on the tables with the stands? you'd want to add something bright since the stands are black. you can drap those strands of crystals to make it twinkle and really pop otherwise its gonna blend in too much with linen

Hm I think they're ivory. The stand is actually gold so it should pop nicely
