Linens rental?

Linens rental?

I know I've asked this before, but did or is anyone renting linens?

I need an opinion...do you think I should bother? I feel like everything is too white/washed out with white or ivory linens. Do you agree?
Here's what the room will look like, mind you it won't be as bright since it's a September evening wedding.

I thought about this fabric/linen, since I'll have green hydrangeas and cream & light blush roses for my centerpieces:

Opinions please! All...good or bad! Throw your .02 at me!

I wouldn't rent linens the room will look nice with your splashes of color from your arrangements and the room probably won't look so white since the reception is in the evening.
BTW, did you price linen rentals? I've seen some pretty hefty prices especially when you have a lot of tables.LOL

I just sent one of the companies an email, so I probably won't hear anything until sometime this week.

Jenny, I feel if you used the white, ivory linens and have your flowers, and the room will be a bit darker because it's an evening wedding, I think the white or ivory linens would be fine.

If you are looking to use the green color scheme more, then order the linens.

Jenn,
I guess it will depend on how much they're asking to rent the darn things!

Re: Linens rental?

Hi Jenn ---
It's so funny how alike our colors/flowers are! We just stopped by John's on Thursday - I told him we need to get a discount because he's ordering both of our flowers from the same growers for the same weekend! He said he has a new farm in Ecuodor htat he deals with and showed me pics of the most amazing hydrangeas I've ever seen! We also went to lion in the sun and narrowed it down to 2 different invites.

Anyway -- back to topic -- the Hamlet has both ivory and sage linens and we're using a combination of both. Ivory long table cloth, a sage damask overlay and ivory napkins. I thought all sage started to get a bit too dark. Could you do just an overlay or just napkins? I wouldn't worry if it's too expensive - I like the crispness of the room with the whites; and the candlelight will give it a gorgeous glow.

Lea! What can I say, we just have great taste.

Yeah, John should hook us up with a deal!!!!
Do you make appointments with John or just walk in when you need to talk to him? I'd love to see the pics of the flowers!!! Besides, I need to get his opinion on the other centerpieces & bouquets that I like.

I don't think our caterer offers any damask fabrics. :( Just solids, but I'll have to ask. I'm curious to see what the cost would be to rent the linens. I love damasks though!!! They're so rich looking.

Kevin and I went to Lion in the Sun a few weeks ago. We found the one we want, just gotta' wait on his annulment proceedings before we can write up the invites. We won't know if we'll be allowed to marry in the Catholic church for another month or so. (The priest allowed us to reserve the date anyway.) We'll see!

Re: Linens rental?

Hahaha...I got a quote on the linens! Hahaha!

It's freakin' cheaper for me to buy them then to rent them!

For the fabric I posted, they want $45 for the rental (per table cloth) and $2.50 for each coordinating napkin.

20 tables x $45 = $900
160 napkins (that's exact) x $2.50 = $400

for a grand total of $1300

Looks like I'm liking the white or ivory linens. (I have my limits. )

Unless I have my FH call up and negotiate with them.

We USED to be able to just stop in John's .... but now that he's king of LI weddings - he's so booked with new brides I end up making an appointment!

I wouldn't rent any, the room looks very pretty as it is, JMO!

Re: Linens rental?

You could rent overlays. A square of color over the white linens. They should be under $20 per table. I am sure you can also find napkins for less if you search around.

I am using Broadway Famous Party Rental and they have a very good selection. Their linens can run from inexpensive to very, it just depends on what you are looking for.

I love that room just the way it is!!!! I also love your choice of flowers(I had green Hyd & cream roses in my bouquet!) That room is beautiful inside i think simple lines with your flowers, favors & stuff will look amazing! You can find something way better to spend $1300 on!!!!
