Wow- that seems like an amazing trip. I love the picture of the elephant crossignt he raod. I have to show my husband tonight he will love them.

DH and I want to do something similar but don't quite know where to start.

How did you go about planning this trip? Was it through an agency that specialized in trips to Africa? Were you with the same group of people the whole time?

My husband majored in Anthropology in college so East Africa was a dream for him. I got into the idea more after doing the research. We did major MAJOR research on it and we did it. Twobugs, I'll FM you some info about the specifics of the trip.
We were on a private safari - just us and a guide. We weren't on a tour at all. We had an itinerary but we chose when to wake up, what we wanted to see, how long each drive was, etc ... in my opinion, the best way to do it, because it is a major trip and who wants to depend on someone else's preferences?
The trip really was a trip of a lifetime. We saw so much, the photo's don't do it justice. Africa is a beautiful continent - Tanzania is a beautiful country and the sights, the people, the culture and the animals were simply amazing.

That is soooo cool!!!! Tanzania and Kenya are places I have wanted to visit!!! I studied about Africa as an undergrad and fell in love. We are going to Ethiopia, but not so much for vacation. We are hoping to take a safari tour, there are some being offered while we will be there.
