Liqour at the wedding CHCC girls read Update at end

Original post by Bellez95

Im soooooooo upset about the liqour at Crest Hollow. Im fine with premium alcohol whatever I requested they at least have grey goose and they are doing that Today I find out their premium liqour doesn't include Tequila No tequilla at all

Now FH tells me not to worry and who cares but Crest Hollows liqour selection blows. If I want tequila and better liqour I have to pay $2.50- $3 a person more what should I do

I have worked at a bar and I know my **** so Im thinking I care to much and nobody will really even care
what do you ladies think???

this was a huge deal for me and FH. the last wedding we went to the groom was even like W T F is this. Obviously RHs have no idea what top shelf means. I can't imagine why they wouldn't include tequila

I love amaretto sours (with disaronno only) so I had to make sure that is what I am getting and the only vodka FH drinks is belvedere so we had to make sure that was in the contract as well.

this was a topic we broached with our RH. They were vague and said 'top shelf' liqour. We asked for specific things and they said those names were not a part of their 'top shelf'. It was a deal breaker for us if we didn't get it. We got it.

I don't think most would notice

Honestly, I don't think anyone would notice...
If you could demand it and get it for free - go for it!
If you have to pay extra - I just don't think it's worth it! But that's just my opinion!

can you possibly buy the bottles and just give it to them instead of paying extra per person?

i personally think that is weird that they arent including tequila.

i don't really know, but i assumed most halls included 'top shelf' liquor standard? to at least cover the basics?

Thats what Im thinking....

But for tequila..besides that margarita, are there alot of other mixed drinks that require it? Does your hall allow shots? Mine doesnt but theres still tequila..

If they dont allow shots that might be why

they dont allow shots???? anyone know if crest hollow does??

i dont see how they would allow you to bring in your own bottles but its worth asking I guess

Lots of places allow this. Ours does because there's this particular brand of irish whiskey that FFIL only drinks and it's barely carried here so we're bringing a couple of bottles in just for him and his crew.

I had a huge problem with CHCC and this whole liquor situation. I never planned a wedding before, so I didn't know the difference between top shelf or premium and therefore the right questions to ask before signing the contract...
When I found out, I brought it to the attention of my BM at CHCC and she told me that for an additional $3 pp I could have top shelf.
I flipped out b/c I felt that was something that should have been said to me at the time we were signing our contract. These BM takes advantage of the clients who don't know what the right questions are to ask.

WARNING to all CHCC girls---CHCC does NOT serve Top Shelf liquor, and if you want it, you either 1. bring this up to them before you sign your contract or 2. MAKE sure they write on your contract the types of liquor they'll be serving.

I worked it out with my BM since I was pretty upset that I didn't know this and she failed to mention it to me, but I had to make it a big deal.

I spoke to another CHCC bride and she has mentioned to me that CHCC doesn't allow you to bring your own liquor either. It apparently will violate their codes. Everything needs to have a certificate of insurance, which would mean if you were using outside caterers, they would have to provide insurance for outside food and beverages. Other than that, CHCC will not allow you to take your own liquor. If any of you girls have luck getting away with this, pleasssse let me know --I'd like to work with your BM lol

Re: Liqour at the wedding CHCC girls read

I am upset I wanted Top shelf liqour but no way in hell am I paying more money. They do not allow shots and from what I hear alot of RHs do not allow them so there is nothing I can do there.
I have in my contract I get grey goose. Dont really care much about anything else but Tequila. I went there today and complained and said I was under the impression I had a fully stocked bar and no tequila means not a fully stocked bar. I said I will not pay more for it but I want it. I was told they were going to tell them to add it and hope it wont be a problem. I told her to let me know yes or no. She said she will just add it and if its a big problem with CH she will let me know. Im really hoping for the best.
This really upset me so much about CH I have loved them and up until now Im not very fond. If I had to do it all over again (i pray to god I never ever have to ) I would prob go to another RH
Hopefully everything works out and you know its my bad for not being more aware of these things when signing a contract

i do not think you can bring your own bottle...when we were looking for halls. FH asked about buying a bottle from them and they said they could order anything from the supplier of course they will have to change us a small fortune. but i guess if we really want it we will.

TO SOLVE THE SHOT PROBLEM. ask the The alcohol up.. and then you can complete the shot or get it on the rocks and just spill it in another glass..i have done this at a couple of weddings who did not allow shots...

hey, i'm a crest hollow bride.. couple of thigns i learned from my experience last month..

first.. whatever you want they CAN do.. and not always for extra.. they opened our cocktail hour 30 minutes early.. and there was no charge... our candy buffet.. they originally told dh no they couldn't cause no outside candy coudl be brought in.. i called RIGHT BACK and got a yes answer.. we brought the candy we wanted, and not all of it was pre-wrapped, we put it in the jars, and they put it on display.. and it was freaking gorgeous... (so i heard.. the adults ravished it before i had a chance to see it..) they did charge us for their set up though..

second- a LOT of halls don't allow shots,i have no idea why, i can only think that maybe folks would get drunk faster and then drinking and driving???

third: we had not one but two outside cakes brought in, yep i had to have the bakery fax ovr an insurance policy but the bakery was used to doing that so it was no big deal, and they were willing to serve the cake with no extra charge..

fourth: no one will care that they didn't get top shelf liquor. they want free liquor.. it can be grain alcohol and kool aid.. it can be moonshine.. if it's free and will get them drunk and it's free.. and it's free... they'll be happy.. did i mention it has to be free?

chcc brides, u have a few days left.. just sit back and enjoy your time don't stress the small stuff it goes by so quick.. you'll have a blast..

Your wedding is going to amazing, tequila or no tequila, and don't even worry about it! CH is a business and of course they will try to get you to pay for extras but they rather get the bulk of your business than make that extra few thousand...

listen i just got home from an event at Villa Lombardi's and can i tell you all there liquor must have been watered down, b/c i had to have at least 5 cosmo's and 4 vodka's and 7up (absolute), right now i would be on the floor, but i am on the computer on LI weddings and completely sober and dissappointed, b/c my cousin is getting married there in sept and i am going to worn her, the liquor had to be watered down, and i think that is horable!!!
