LIRR Vent

LIRR Vent

With all the flippin' money we spend on fares, you think they would be able to have the trains operate on time.... Then you get these stupid pre-recorded announcements, this morning all of them were wrong.

I'm on the Ronkonkoma line and my train has not been on time once in over a week! We are the straightest shot into Penn and we have worst tracks, the old trains, etc.

And these new trains!!! They are too heavy so they can't go as fast as the old ones. Some one told the seats are smaller. The double-decker ones don't fit thru all the tunnels. What is up with it!!!

I've had some junk cars that were more reliable and they didn't cost me anywhere near as much!!! ***!!!

Thanks for listening.

I hear ya!!!!

I HATE the new trains. I even went so far to email LIRR customer service to ask if these trains were supposed to be an improvement. I don't see slower trains with less, smaller seats that are uncomfortable besides as an improvement although I did congratulate them on putting handles on every row of seats since so many more people need to stand now and it's nice to have something to hold on to.

I am on the Port Washington Line - no jamiaca stop and no connecting trains and they still can't run on schedule.

I hear ya as well!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I think the MTA regular subway is more reliable than LIRR which runs on a direct schedule...it stinks.

How about in the middle of 90 degree weather and you get into a car with no AC. Then I just wanna die!!!!!

the double-deckers do fit into the tunnel....they are the ones that are too heavy to have more than a few cars on, not the new trains.

The new trains have 25 less seats per car, seats are smaller and higher. Not an improvement at all!!!

I also think its BS that they consider 'on-time' to be within 4 mintues 99 seconds of the schedule. Excuse me, but if the train is 4 minutes late it is LATE!!

So when they put their lame statistics on our seats every month and it says '90% on time' they mean '90% within 5 minutes of the schedule'.

AND - why do they brag about 90%, or 91% - it should be close to 100%!!!

Re: LIRR Vent

I'd love my train to be within 4 minutes of the scheduled time.... it has been later than 15 minutes every day since Tuesday.... LAST WEEK!!!

Enough is enough already.

Today the d*mn gates kept going up and down regardless of whether or not a train was actually coming.... traffic was stopped for at least a half hour. It's just crazy!!!

It is so nice to have people who ride the lirr everyday to complain to. No one that I b*tch to in my family gets it.
I actually can feel myself getting heated and my heart starts to pound when we are running late (which is always) and then they have that sh*tty excuse about the doors.
I take the 7:32 train from Ronkonkoma every morning and it has been ok-I usually have problems coming home, especailly with the 5:41 or the 6:21.
I am so bitter every month that I pay my $252 cause I know what a ripoff it is.
And did you notice that whenever they put thise pamphlets on the seats about on time performance Ronkonkoma is usually close to or dead last...great job!

One of the MANY reasons I left the city to work on the island :)

its was too much to take. Not worth it - it burns you out.
