Listing dessert on menus??

Im not sure what to say on our menus about dessert.
As of now we have the appetizer listed, the 6 entree choices and my question is:
Do I say anyting about dessert?
Should I tell people whats in the cake?
Tell them they have veinese tables?
Tell them both?
Or not mention dessert at all.

I've never seen dessert mentioned on menus at weddings... I would leave it off.

Really? I think that most people's sample pics of their menus have listed dessert (on LIW) - from what I remember.

I voted for both 1 and 2.... that way they are aware that you'll have an hour of desserts/viennese.

I agree, I've always seen desserts listed. I would put it on the menu, if you have room.

Do you want to mention it? Or do you not care? Do what you want!!

Ours said 'Dessert: Vienesse Table'. It didn't even mention the cake, I guess that's a given.

You don't have to list the dessert, but if you're having a Vienesse it might be a good idea so your guests know to leave room!!

Re: Listing dessert on menus??

There is too much dessert to list on the menu, so its going to say something like this:

(flavors of the cake) Wedding Cake
and Full Vienesse Stations with coco fountains
????? or something to that extent

You can also buy cake/pastry boxes so the guests can take some home. Just make sure the people at your RH know to put the boxes out by the tables and inform guests.

What doesn't get eaten gets thrown away

I think you should - it completes the 'package' you are listing appetizer, salad, entree - why not list dessert.

I'm going to list the wedding cake on our menus so that the Vienese is a surprise!

A friend of mine got married on a friday night and had a viennese hour - but she didn't mention it on the menus, none of the guests knew about it... because it was getting so late and people were tired, guests started leaving right after the cake - some people missed out on the viennese hour...

In hindsight, maybe listing it on the menu is a good 'heads up' for guests so they know to leave room, and stick around
