Anyone ever heard of them or use them? I've recieved a flyer in the mail and I've seen them advertised in the wedding section of the newspaper. We were going to get chair covers but the cigar rolling service costs about the same amount. So I'm thinking cigars and no chair covers...what do you girls think?

I would stick to the chair covers. That's the whole appearance of the wedding. If you're interested in cigars you can always buy good quality cigars from a smoke shop and have them displayed with cordials. Everyone sits, not everyone smokes. JMO.

FH and I were thinking about doing that as well, until we realized one thing.. most places don't allow you to smoke there....=/ so we are going to ask if they would be permitted to smoke them at the wedding..

Re: Little Cigar Factory....
We used Little Cigar Factory... it was a HUGE hit... We had the guy come in and roll the cigars... it was cute. Our guests could smoke in the room if they wanted to... the smoking/non smoking situation is usually up to you... we had the room non-smoking until the cigars hour (which was after the cake)... so instead of the viennese hour, we had a cigar and brandy hour.
So I would skip the seat covers and go for the cigars!

Yes, I don't want to compromise 'the look' of the wedding but at the same time I can't see anyone saying 'wow, that was some wedding with great chair cover' it is more possible that someone will say 'wow, the was a great wedding they had guy personally rolling cigars for everyone' or they could also say, 'Oh, that was terrible, they gave out cigars and the place was full of smoke the whole night'
The place told me that if I want the guests to smoke them they will have someone that cuts them and lights them for the guests but if I don't want them to smoke them they will put them in plastic tubes... do you think people will still light them and it will be a big smoke fest the whole night?

It wasn't a smoke-fest at ours... I wouldn't worry about it..

Re: Little Cigar Factory....
It truly depends on your guests. If you have a lot of people (I'd say 25%) that would smoke them go for it. My FI wanted it, but I feel $1,500 for 200 cigars was a lot to accommodate about 25 guys that would smoke them. So we're going to buy 100 good quality cigars at a smoke shop at have them displayed with the cordials at the Vienese Hour.

We're using them. It's a surprise for my FH- he has no idea. He keeps asking me if we're going to have cigars and I have to keep telling him I took care of it! I'm excited, I think it is a nice touch.
If your venue is a private facility I believe you get to decide whether you want your event smoking or non, but you should definitely make sure before you do it- I don't think it would have the same impact if they rolled them and put them in a tube.

Re: Little Cigar Factory....
Believe it or not, I'm the one leaning more towards the cigars then the chair covers while FH really wants the chair covers, LOL. I just told him sanmik's idea and he liked it so maybe we'll compromise and get that. My hall allows it plus we would do it during the cocktail hour which ('knock on wood') will be out in the garden. I still really love the novelty of someone rolling the cigars right in front of you but I think we are going to do what sanmik suggested...sit down and think about how many guests actually smoke cigars... until then I'd love some more opinions/ suggestions. Thanks you all very, very much!
