So I have about 18 months until the wedding and we'll know Saturday if we have the church and the hall. The next big things on my list are the band and the photographer. What about all the little things? I'm making a list of all the detail stuff so I don't overlook anything. So far I have: kissing bells, cake knife, garter. What else???

favors, placecard holders, rose petals/rice, toasting flutes, jordan almonds...
It's all up to what you want...
The list can go on and on, not sure what you're planning on:
personalized match books, napkins, etc. (I'm not doing any of these things, though)
JUST wanted to add: Yes these little things add up... I've been collecting things here and there, this way I don't have one huge credit card bill in the end! I already have my bells and my favors.

I guess I'm trying to make a list of all the major details that are possible and then edit from there...
Off the top of my head, these are the major and minor expenses/purchases we had for the wedding:
Reception Hall Photographer Videographer DJ Limos Photo permit for Westbury Gardens Officiant Invitations (include postage for invite & rsvp) Flowers Dress Accessories (veil, headpiece, undergarments, stockings, shoes, purse) Tuxedo Favors hair & make up trials & wedding day Manicure, pedicure, waxing before the wedding STD letters sent to out of town guests Bridal Party Gifts Honeymoon wedding bands programs place cards menu cards misc. decorations for reception hall (table number holders, bathroom baskets) Cake topper cake knife set toasting flutes hotel guest gift bags kid bags for the reception ceremony music CD's tips for vendors
there's also ceremony site fees ceremony music wedding night accomodations
and I spent some money on things that didnt quite work out, mostly paper stuff for information type things.

I have been trying to buy little things at a time. Here is what I have done so far (remember that we are getting married on the same day). Church Hall DJ Limos Photographer Videographer Started to buy presents for Grandmother, Parents & BP Have things for cake table since we do not want a cake topper (we are having roses put on the top of our cake) Unity Candle Ordered My Gown and Picked out BM dresses (MOH has already ordered hers, have three more to order) Have Kissing Bells Have the Seating Cards that are already perforated so that I can print them on the computer
I would try buying little things at a time so that everything does not come all at once.

I have 2 lists. Things to do and things to get.
I started my address list early. It was one of the best tips for to do things that I got. Try to get all of your addresses so that when you do get your invitations, its not a mad rush to get all the correct addresses and correct titles and spellings for the envelopes.
also... song lists for band/dj pictures to take for photographer
