little vent

All of Fh's friends are married, they been married in the past two and half years. I love them dearly, but when I was new to the group all the talked about was weddings. Now that they are all having babies thats what they want to talk about. don't get me wrong these kids are family to me, the parents refer to us as aunt jill and uncle joe. But, I want to talk weddings now and its hard to engage them. I just always feel like im a step behind them all. I am so glad I have you girls, otherwise i'd have no one to talk weddings to.

OMG i was in the same situation. I came into FH's group just as everyone was getting engaged and weddings was ALL they talked about! So much so that it got a little annoying. Then once they got married all they talked about was houses and taxes and that kinda stuff. Only one is going to try for babies now so that talk hasn't really started yet. My BF luckily joined the goup and is getting married to FH's friend and there is one more girl getting married too.

I would just talk about it and if they don't respond just keep bringing it up in a polite way. Or maybe ask them about their weddings. People love to talk about themselves.

i am in the same situation...

my friends in long island (where I grew up) are dating.. or they are still going out to the bar everynight to meet guys, so I am a step ahead of them..

my friends in rochester (where I live), are all married and are all about babies

There are certain people I know I can talk wedding with like my friend Heather at work who helps me with advice on what to do and when I start getting stressed out. Others I know that they arent really intrested so I just dont talk about it with them. Its all good plus you know you have friends here who are willing to talk to you about your wedding.

I agree, I have a mix of friends, two that are getting married this year, and some that aren't even close. That stinks that you feel that you cannot talk to anyone about your planning. I agree, thank goodness for this site! We are here for you!
