Little Vent

Forgive me if I sound mean or rude, but I had to share and vent.

I got married on 7/10 and to me it was a perfect wedding (for those that went please be honest). Everything was well organized, the band was amazing, my ceremony was short and sweet and everyone had a great time. I haven't heard any complaints from anyone. EXCEPT one my mom's friends who commented about the lack of liquor (we had an open bar and bottles on the table), lack of food (I thought we had more than enough), my ceremony wasn't special enough, flowers were blah, etc. etc. etc. You get the point right?

Well FFWD to 9/17 and it was her daughters wedding and we were told it was going to be 'the wedding of the year.' I was expecting to be wowed and had no ill intentions....I never wish anyone bad luck.

Well we get there and there is almost nothing to eat at cocktail hour and no where to sit. I had to eat my food standing up and no knives to cut the meat....Ok let that one go and head to the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful and very nice (all in Russian though for DH was all lost....lol), the flowers were almost IDENTICAL to mine and her dress was very similar. Head to the reception and we get to our table and there are people there and NO SPACE FOR US!!! so unorganized! We got lucky and sat with some friends at another table, but still....there was not enough food, DH asked our waiter for WATER and we were told they were out of water. It took almost 1 hr for the music to start. I wont get into all the other details, but my point is why judge my wedding and crap all over it when yours was not much better? I just hate mean people!

karma's a b*tch! first of all, I think it's tacky to criticize any party that you were invited to, as a GUEST. Shat the Frig up! I can not standddd people like that! what is the point of saying stuff like that? I would be so annoyed

Honestly, she was probably jealous of how beautiful your wedding was. Usually when people make unjustified comments like that, its cuz theyre envious and just want to make themselves feel better. Dont pay that wench any mind!

Thanks. It was just hurtful to hear cause I tried so hard to make our wedding great for everyone and then to hear stupid crap like that I was like are you serious?!?

I totally agree. I am not critizing her wedding, just pointing out that hers wasn't perfect....What gets me is you sat there and evaluated my entire day and didn't even attempt to have a good time.

sounds like the ugly green eyed monster has reared its evil head! jealousy will make people get defensive and talk sh!it about other peoples events. she probably knew her daughters weddingw as going to suck so her only recourse was to knock yours.

but...where did she get married!

We got some random complaints too ... my favorite was 'the music is too loud, we're gonna go get earplugs' ... Um, really??? It's a damn wedding!! Dancing is mandatory!!

Some people just enjoy complaining about everything.

Since I was there, I can say that there's no reason anyone should complain about your food (ummm mashed potato bar - YUM!!!), your flowers (they were the size of me and beautiful), alcohol (there were BOTTLES on our tables), or anything else. You had a beautiful wedding and she's just trying to pick on random things that make no sense at all. You guys were so happy and truly enjoyed the night, so any 'haters' can just STUFF it.

Thanks Hun. I tried to make sure everyone loved it and had a good time. What gets me is that its a wedding! not a competition. Why judge my wedding? Then she asked my mom's mutual friend 'what did u think of Lana's wedding' and they said 'we loved it' and she said 'well then we have nothing to talk about....ugh'
