FH and I do not live together. His lease is up at the end of Feb, so we have said we will get an apartment together then, and live together starting in March (3 months before wedding) I want to live with him so badly, but part of me doesn't want to 'officially' live with him until after the wedding. I think I am sort of afraid of being married not feeling different if we are already living together. Is this wierd? Does anyone else feel this way?

Re: Living arrangements
I originally felt this way but after much thought realized I was being silly. We just purchased a home & both of us are paying for the mortgage & bills. It would be crazy for me to not live there & pay the bills. Things will still feel different once you are married & living together

Re: Living arrangements
We are hoping for a house before we are married, but I feel the same way as you. Therefore, if we have a three bedroom house the deal is that we each take a bedroom as our own (visitation is always allowed ) and we save the masterbedroom for when we are married.

I can understand where you are coming from in regard to the 'newlywed feeling' . Just remember that in the few months that you may be living together before you get married, you will more than likely be swamped with wedding plans and will have little, if any, time to be all googly eyed over your FH. When all wedding related things are over, you will have more time to enjoy each othr as newlyweds.

Re: Living arrangements
we bought a house and we are in the middle of reneovations, but neither of us live there. We spend most of our free time there doing small projects. we will be spending our first night there the night of our wedding. I want to be living together as a married couple, and i also think it would break my mother's heart if we lived together before marriage.
Just my opinion

Re: Living arrangements
FH and I have lived together for a few years - I think that either way (before or after you get married) you need to be prepared that it takes getting used to and compromise - if you are ready for that, you will be fine!!

Re: Living arrangements
I totally understand the desire for the 'newlywed glow'. However, FH and I have lived together for several years and I know there will be a different dynamic once the marriage is final. While we may not have that same 'wonderment' over sleeping in the same bed every night - or simply cohabitating - the fact that we are husband and wife will be our newlywed glow.
I think it's different for each couple, and you have to do what feels right for you.
