Ok, so here I am having another 'argument' with FH. A friend of ours needs to find an apartment soon. He says we (me, FI and him) should all get a place together. FI and I are going to start looking about 3-4 months before the wedding for one.
FI thinks it's ok for all 3 of us living together when we're newlyweds and doesn't think anything of it!!! How do I get him to see that it's just wrong?

No no no no no!!!
I cannot stress how important it is for you guys to live together and just the two of you as newlyweds! (and as a married couple) This isn't the time to be acting like college students in dormatories or with roomates.
I would be VERY insistent on this issue!!!

Nope-I wouldn't have it. No way in H E L L!
This is not a sleepover or a dorm as another poster put it.
You are now a family living in your own place. If that person needed a place to stay for a while (short while) then ok, but not a permanent living arrangement.
There are tons of apartments out there. If he cannot afford one by himself let him pick another friend of his to be his roommate.
Absolutely unacceptable!

I dunno, it might not be so incredibly terrible. For a while FH and I were living with his roomate and his roomate's fiance (in a 2 BR apartment). It wasn;t the ideal situation (only 1 bathroom). But we survived. The lease ended and we've moved to different location, and we only lived like that for like 2 months.
But, if you don;t want to love all 3 of you, then your FH should respect that. You have to make decisions together now. If you feel really stongly, stand your ground.

Re: Living arrangements after wedding
well personally i say hell no! listen, IMHO you should sit with FH and tell him you two are going to be husband and wife and you are becoming a family and you want that time together to become a family...basically tell him no way, you would be happy and you are not comfortable with it...good luck!!!

Re: Living arrangements after wedding
I think that's a really bad idea especially if this will be the first time u and FH live in close corners together. I think the first few months of being a newleywed are the toughest and having someone living with u definitely won't make it any easier. I suggest you have a talk with FH and explain to him why u think this is a bad idea. i hope it works out

Re: Living arrangements after wedding
don't budge!! you'll be newlyweds, why would you/he want some other person living in your new home??? Plus, you'll have to christen every room, and can't do that if this other person is there -- , hmmm, was that a little vulgar?? sorry!

Re: Living arrangements after wedding
Well I totally agree with living together alone as newleyweds...Actually I have a similar situation - my FH and I were starting to look at houses last summer (it started out as a goof/we had NO intentions on buying one) until this year or next year ~ but the first house we saw we FELL in LOVE with and it was a GREAT deal...so we purchased it...we couldnt let it pass us by - we both knew we would regret it if we did. and my FH best friend (who is a female & also is one of my bestest buddy's as well/ she is like a serrogate sister in law) We did make an apartment with a seperate entrance - it was a little difficult in the beginning...It takes time to get used to it - but if you can try to not live with the three of you...try not to!
Don't get me wrong also - it can be a ton of fun...Now we have family nights on Sunday and we all eat together ~ either we make dinner and invite her upstairs - or she makes us dinner and we go down to her apartment...My FH and I both have agreed when she decides to leave we will not rent the space out - we are going to make it a nice place to have friends over...Big screen TV ect.

It's different when you're married.... you may not think so, but it is! The first year of marriage is definately a period of adjustment, regardless if you lived together before or not. You need this time to adjust to marriage and to eachother.
