My name is Amy and I'm new to the board. I just wanted to introduce myself!
Me and my FH Zak got engaged about 2 weeks ago. We kept it a secret from our families and friends until my engagement ring was ready to be picked up! We broke the news to everyone this weekend, and the insanity of planning a wedding is sure to begin soon!
We don't have any plans for the wedding so far, but I've been lurking on the board for a couple of weeks now and I've been getting some great ideas already.

Welcome!! I just joined LIW today. I also got engaged 2 weeks ago! Not sure if our wedding will be in '09 or '10 yet. We will probably go to get pricing from halls in a few weeks.

Welcome and Congratulations, I also got engaged 2 weeks ago...I guess its something in the air!
I dont know how you kept it a secret either! As a matter of fact I always told my boyfriend (now FH!) that if he ever proposed he would have to do it close to home that way i could go see my family and friends immediatly!! So he proposed in our living room, and then he took me to my parents house, where he and my sister had secretly planned a party with all my family and friends there!
Congratulations again, and enjoy being engaged...its so much fun!!

Yeah, he did everything perfect and it was exactly how i always dreamed it would be! And I cant believe all my friends/family knew and not one of them gave it away, but now i understand why for the few days before it happened none of them were answering or returning my calls!! They were all avoiding me...they didnt want to let anything slip!
