I agree with Liz that we should keep final details of any get together off the board. However, Debra suggested Tots on Track in Massapequa as a possible place to meet. I actually called them today about classes and I asked if we could have a GTG there. Unfortunately, they won't let us have one on the weekend - would have to be a weekday and that would leave a bunch of us out I think.
So...does anyone have any other suggestions about that type of place? I don't know if Gymboree or someplace like that lets you rent the space for a little 'party'...I'd be happy to look into places if anyone has suggestions. Otherwise we may have to wait until the weather gets warmer to meet in a park or something.
I don't remember where everyone was willing to travel to so maybe we should narrow the area down first??

I think Gymboree would be fun, or maybe Chuck E Cheese or Nathan's??
I am in Suffolk, but will travel.

Re: LIW Parenting Get Together
Well, I could try to get the info out of Tots on Track if Massapequa is someplace everyone is willing to travel AND if Deb (and others) are willing to take a day off!!
I know there is a Gymboree in Amityville but I'm not sure if that is a good location...let me make some more calls tomorrow and then we'll see if we can vote on a date and time...
More suggestions for locations are welcome!!
Is there a good 'middle' spot on the island that anyone can think of meeting??

Re: LIW Parenting Get Together
I'd be willing to travel to Massapequa but I have a feeling wherever is decided will be central enough for us since we are in Nassau. I dont know that much about the play places so I cant offer suggestions but we'd love to participate.
I can't wait for the nice weather!!

I could take a 1/2 day off so if we could do it in the afternoon (I am currently an untenured teacher and need to be careful with the time I use).

Re: LIW Parenting Get Together
I highly doubt that Gymboree will 'rent' an area of their space for a GTG. There are insurance reasons for this....and Gymboree are sticklers for a penny.
The only option really are the play-type places like ChuckE.Cheese, etc. and (don't hate me for saying this), but I SKEEVE those places
I would suggest the Let's Play, Let's Party place in Commack again, but I have my suspicions of the germ factor of that place. Paul was only there twice (in a week's time), and came down with an awful illness
I'm sorry I must really seem like a germ-a-phobe with this post!!

Re: LIW Parenting Get Together
I agree with Claud about the grems -- Aidan has not been sick yet this year -- I am like so paranoid about a clean place.... I liked Lets Play , Lets Party -- and Chucky Cheese sounds good too -- Anywhere really...

oh I wish I could come!!! Dr. says no to Sophia socializing quite yet! Perhaps we can arrange a Spring park get together in a few months?
Or you can all travel to Jersey and we can go to strip malls!

Heather, don't be silly....Justin is 3 right? Paul is almost 2 and so is Aidan...they are NOT that much different in age. Of course Justin can talk more than they can, but my son can hold his own when he wants to communicate
