I would like to use only locally grown flowers at my wedding, which is at the height of summer.
Is there any florist in Queens or Long Island that specializes in that sort of thing? Any ideas how I should proceed?

I've never used them but I think the East Williston Florist grows their own...

hmm you can definitely get local hydrangea - its in just about every other backyard in long island. local sunflowers and local calla lilies are also around during the summer as well. not sure what area specializes in them though - try giving pennock in plainview a call - (516) 349-8700. they are a floral wholesaler (they only sell to retail florists though) but they may be able to help you find a farm that would sell direct to you.
