We are in the process of scouting locations for our wedding. My profile lists my date as 7/10/03 only because I was required to fill in a date. We have visited several sites on LI and still haven''t found the 'one.' Crescent Beach Club, John Anthony''s, Harbor Club, PJCC, Dansfords, Lands End, Capt Bills, Sunken Meadow Beach and several others. Although many of these sites were beautiful, they just weren''t what we were looking for.
Any ideas or suggestions of other waterfront locations to hold a casual summer night wedding reception? Renting a mansion in Suffolk or Nassau would be something to consider as well. Any help for this indecisive bride to be would be grateful!

Have you tried Old Field Club? I too was looking for a casual summer wedding someplace on the water. It's funny b/c I looked at the same places - I also tried renting a home in the Hamptons and having it catered with a Tent - that's oneway to go...
I thought the Old Field was quite nice - it seemed somewhat casual and it's on a small body of water.
After all the looking at places on the water (somewhat casual) I went completely different. Funny how things turn out.
Good Luck.

You mentioned that you looked at renting houses in the hamptons...can I ask how you went about your search? We would like to explore this option before we book everything. I'd appreciate any information you can provide. THANKS!!

Steve's Pier 1 does weddings - they were booked for our date so I didn't visit them but they have great food, great location and have the wedding on their dock.
Other suggestions:
Brideview Yacht Club (didn't see them either)
Coidre Hall Mansion - has a view of water. Could use some work. We didn't like the set up but it may work for you.
Sunken Meadow Pavilion - very casual. Right on the boardwalk. Party must end by dusk.

I have a few suggestions -
Sans Souci in Sea Cliff (www.sanssoucicaterers.com). That's where we decided on. It is an old mansion right on the water - It has a lot of character but it's a little small (max 150-180).
Also, I heard that you can rent the Vanderbuilt mansion in Centerport. It is a beautiful location. If it was available when I was booking, I would've definitely considered it.
One more suggestion...I visited Atlantica in West Hampton when I was looking around. I absolutely loved it but it was a little too pricy for the menu we would've wanted and they required 1/3 down when booking a date so we decided against it. It is a great place - Right on the beach.
Good luck in the search!

I`m not sure how you feel about a do it yourself kind of wedding but my sister got married at the West Sayville Maritime Museum. It`s directly on the water. For the use of the property and a tent, they charged $1,000.00. Her wedding was so beautiful and unique!

Thank you
I appreciate your advice and suggestions. As mentioned in my first post we have already looked into Crescent Beach Club, John Anthony''s, Harbor Club, PJCC, Dansfords, Lands End, Capt Bills, Sunken Meadow Beach Although these locations are nice, they just didn't scream out to us.
The mansion idea was just a thought. Never looked into it, but would love to hear others experiences.
Atlantica is gorgeous, but w/ the traffic in the summer I think the Hamptons is out if the question.
I really like the West Sayville Maritime Museum idea. Do they have a website?
