Loestrin24 (BC question)

Has anyone tried this birth control pill?? It's supposed to make your period last only 3 days.

They must really be trying to push this because I think I saw about 5 commercials for it today. I don't know... for some reason I always get a little skeptical when these drugs make your body do unnatural things... making your period last only 3 days or less is not normal!

Who knows.. maybe it's wonderful!

I'm sorry... maybe that is normal for some people. I was always under the impression that it is supposed to be about 5 days. Geez... sometimes I feel like I don't even totally understand my own gender!

I'm def against hormones and the pill, but this is a general statement - not just my opinion. No pill is 'safe'...and that 'period' is not a real one. You can't have a period while on the pill because the hormones stop the egg from being able to be fertilized...so it's all a mock period anyway.

And Loestrin24 has been around for YEARS!! It's, like all the other pills, used as the MAP because it has higher doses of hormones (you take less than with '28' pills).

Please talk to your doctor and ask about the risks...esp. blood clots and stroke, etc. My DH's aunt almost died from a blood clot near her heart and she gave me the scariest talk ever; I asked my doctor afterwards and he was so nonchalant about how 'common' blood clots were that I decided it wasn't worth the risk.

Of course, this is a mutual choice since alternative methods have to be used and your FH, DH (I waited until after the wedding, who wants to be bothered on the HM?) has to be on board...but your health is worth it!!

Sorry to be Debby Downer...I just want all you girls to have the facts!!
