I live in Ny and really love the idea of having a wedding in a loft. Everyone is tellling me not to do it bc of the planning and the high cost. Can anyone offer advice? The spaces I am looking at for a saturday night are 7k-15k. Thats the fee just for the space. W

Um, that's outrageous fees! Speak to William at www.loftrent.com...the lofts there are the most reasonable...good luck!

Re: Loft Help!
Every space will have a different price structure so one place might have a high site fee but allow you to bring in your own caterer which could save you money while another will have a lower fee but mandate your vendors, etc..
Or you can find a wedding site that is loft like and will run just like a traditional catering hall (for example, tribeca rooftop, manhattan penthouse..but im sure there are others)

I suggest going to theknot.com, a lot of the ladies there having their weddings in the lofts around NYC - they also have a lot of vendors there too!

Tribeca Rooftop has a loft feel, but no site fee. It is owned by the caterer Lovin Oven on LI they just have a different name in NYC. On LI they do FlowerFields Lands End etc

Loft 11 is a popular one. If you can find a good price from a caterer, it will even out. It's just alot of planning. It's a beutiful, chic, NYC wedding though - have fun!
