LOL. I give up...

LOL. I give up...

I am actually laughing about this, not so much mad really.

But I had to send 35 of my friends invites with no guests.

However, I am allowing it if they are in a serious relationship and I am sure if I get some no's I expect maybe 5 people to call me and ask.

My friend just called me and told me that SOMEONE was offended because I didn't give him a guest option and that he didn't want to come alone (um, you know 60% of the people jack a$$), and also because I didn't invite his friend that I don't know through a hole in the wall, I see him at parties, but we aren't bffs, and his number isn't even in my phone. I talked to the guy maybe 3 times?????

Do people not understand weddings and there formality??????

I told my friend to convince him to decline if he feels that way. From what I understand he's shutting people out because he's going through a bad break up, and I don't mean to sound like a bad friend myself, but really, there are going to be people there without guests so it's not like I singled this guy out.

No it's not, and I really believe that half my friends don't realize when you give a gift, you're supposed to at least cover your plate, and if you have a guest, cover theres too.

I have always done that and more. I had a conversation with my friend telling someone that I gave $250 as a gift to someone's wedding, and my friend was like, 'WOW, that much?, I gave $50'

lol, REALLY????

We did the same thing not inviting guests unless they are in a relationship. I spoke to a friend the other night and asked if she was coming to the wedding and she said she was waiting to see if she was coming alone.. SHE WASN'T INVITED WITH A GUEST...

$50?!?!?!?!?!?!?! My FH and I NEVER give less than $200, more if its a fanicier place!!!

Obviously i'm not expecting my guests to 'pay for' the wedding....but come on!!! You should pay for your plate, and there is NO WAY a plate is $50, unless your at a knights of olumbus lol

But, in reference to the topic at hand.
It is PERFECTLY alright not to invite (+ guest), weddings are expensive! But, if there is a FH or a seriously relationship, i think you should invite that person.

PLEASE do not do what a 'friend' of mine did.
He invited me and my FH (at the time Greg and I were just 'dating'....for 4 1/2 years!)...but then about 3 weeks before my friends wedding he called and disinvited my FH!!! Gave some BS excuse and i ended up not going to the wedding either. I was very very upset and we pretty much dont speak anymore (in addtion to his wife being a bit*h). Also, mind you...he knew my FH and we've all hung out on multiple occasions.

But, anyway! People are going to be jerks...don't pay them no mind.

Re: LOL. I give up...

I got stuck inviting everyone with a guest.....only a handful of friends are not in a serious relationship and another handful that are single (mostly bridal party people), and the rest of our friends are married, so it was tough picking and choosing which of the single friends were worthy of a guest, so we just invited everyone with a plus one. Family members automatically got a plus one......well, FH's cousin's daughter's didn't get a plus one, I'm expecting crappy gifts from them anyway....

I'm really hating this whole invite thing so far.

mostly for my case, a lot of my friends are single, and if you know your friends, you make your own judgements, ya know? I pretty much do know 20 of my friends do not have wedding edicate and I KNOW that when it's there turn, they are going to feel what I felt and I will have no sympathy. lol.
