LOL! Those girls who straighten their hair...I need more advice

Okay, I don't know about any of you, but I am sick of spending $40 on shampoo lines to get my hair straight. Anyone use a nice inexpensive line that does the trick?? I currently use sleek look, IT IS THE BEST (if anyone wants to try it...I swear by it!)

Why don't you get thermal reconditioning/japanese straightening. I have had it done twice. It is the best thing ever!!

I just use regular shampoo..but I use Aveda Hang straight before I blow it out and I LOVE it!!! I may try your shmapoo though for fun! I dont want my hair permanently straight because I sometimes like my hair curly!

I just started using the Christophe line of products ( the shiny and smnooth line)...Jessica Simspons old hair stylist developed it..there is a line for straingtening and they just introduced it at CVS..it's about $6.99 and I love it! It makes my hair soooo much easier to straighten!

Also a little more expensive is the Paul Mitchell Skinny line, its kinda new as well and the serum is pretty cheap ( $6.99 - $8.99) and I love that too!

I use the Sleek Look also. I really like it.

Thanks for all of the suggestions...

Yes, the Sleek Look line is amazing, you have to get the straightening cream too...I think that's what really makes it so good (i use the extreme because my hair is really curly). Ever since I started using it I have not needed to chemically straighten my hair! It's in the orange bottle, you can't miss it. I'll check out the line from Jessica Simpson's sylist. I just really don't want to use irons or chemicals anymore. I had a bad experience w/ getting my hair straightened a couple of years ago. The hair on the back top part of my head actually broke off. It took a while to grow back to the point where it would not stick up or be noticeable.

FH loves my hair curly, I don't particularly care for it...especially when I am at work. Funny thing is, I love curly hair on others, just not on me.

I had a different kind of straightening done previously. The thermal conditioning/japanese straightening...does that do less damage?

Really?? I got the stuff in the large tube and I think it's like GLUE and I couldn't even get the brush thru my hair when blow drying!!

I've given up on special products but recently bought a ceramic flat iron and I laugh & keep telling DH I have 'Friends' hair when I use it!

Yikes! I am too broke to do that! I have heard great things about it though...I heard it's better then regular straightening. How about Panteen's smooth line?

I use Pantene Smooth & Sleek, 2-in-1 - works well.

I use thermasilk shampoo and conditioner, and a frizz-ease starightening balm, and them after it is dry I use the frizz-ease serum.
