Lombardis on the Bay
I just want to share my story with all you brides, and if I can help even one of you, then I was successful.
I was looking into Lombardis for my venue, Lombardis on the Sound was not available for the date I wanted, so I was given a sample menu that I would get and sent over to Lombardis on the Bay, since they had the date I wanted. We got there, absolutely loved the place and the view. Went to a bridal expo and loved the food. ( was upset that my $20 entrance didnt cover a soda, and I had to pay like 3 bucks for one!)
We got a price quote sheet written out, with everything we wanted, including the menu selected, the price, the timings etc... Of course the price was a little ridiculous for a day time wedding during off season...but we liked the place. We were not shown the 'too tiny' bridal suite on the main level...as the BM told us. He was going to give us the large one upstairs, with more space and bathrooms.
Anyways, we went back a few weeks later with $ to put a deposit pending working out some small details. Now all of a sudden, things changed! He told us that our 'small' event would not get the bridal suite upstairs, instead he was going to try and book another event up there. According to him, 'we will try to book every room possible on that Saturday' So now he was telling us, that our guests would have to share a bathroom with the restaurant, and 2 other events in the upstairs sooms! He also said 'its no big deal, how long will they be crossing paths for?' Im sorry, you dont tell the bride to be, that is no big deal! Thats for her to determine, if her guest should be waiting in line to use the bathroom!
Then he started to take away dishes from our menu. The 10 chaffing dishes, would now be 5. The 2 pasta staions and 2 carving stations now became 1 each! This is inspite of us having the menu in front of us with the selections circled by the BM! We told him that we were thinking about having the vienesse during our 4 hr reception, instead of the original quote of an extra hr for it. We thought we would save a few bucks by reducing our event by 1 full hour. But no, he wanted the same exact price for it!
Needless to say, we walked out of his office! And will never step foot in a Lombardis venue again! All they are concerned with is our MONEY! I even had other vendors telling me that they were not the nicest people and were all about the $$. And they would know!
