Hello! Has anyone had their wedding at Lombardi's on the Bay and have any recommendations/warnings/advice? We went to look yesterday and fell in love but there is hardly any reviews/pictures whatsoever online about Lombardi's on the bay.
Our ceremony would be outside (weather permitting!), could it be too hard to hear with the restaurant right there?
Did anyone put the dj in the cocktail hour room? We are kind of interested in setting it up that way... but not sure how it would work with our entrance/first dance/cocktail hour clean up.
Did you stay at a hotel nearby? My fiance and I live in Boston and much of our family/friends would be traveling from out of state so we'd need a good hotel close by that ideally provides shuttle service to/from LOTB.
Any information is greatly appreciated!! :)

Re: Lombardi's on the bay questions!
There is Danford's in Port Jeff which is pretty bc it is right on the water. Other than that I believe the closest hotel is on 347 in Setauket/Lake Grove area (?), East Wind in Wading River or there are a bunch in Riverhead. East Wind and Riverhead are like 20-30 minutes from your venue.

Re: Lombardi's on the bay questions!
Hi,
I went to a friend's wedding at Lombardi's on the Bay. Overall, it was a great wedding. The food, of course, was wonderful, as it is in any Lombardi location. And the cocktail hour room looking out on the water was beautiful.
My friend had the set up you're referring to... The cocktail hour room turned into the dance floor/bar. Here's my opinion of that (as a guest): It was both positive and negative. It was fun to have a full room almost fully devoted to dancing (and the bar)... however, anyone who wanted to just WATCH the dance floor couldn't... unless they stood to the side. They'd obviously have to get up and walk into the room itself instead of just watching from their tables. Non-dancers probably liked having the dance floor in the other room so that they could talk more peacefully in the main room w/o the disturbance of a loud dj. Also, I wasn't a big fan of the entrance/first dance set up. We were all ushered from the CH room into the dining room. While we were served appetizers, it look almost a half hour for them to take down all the tables in the CH room to set up the dance floor...so they didn't do the entrances until then. I felt a half hour was a long time. Also, when they did the entrances, they came into the dining room and stood in a smallish dance area between all the tables and that is where they did the first dance and later on, the cake cutting. The first dance was TOTALLY tight b/c there was not nearly enough room. But ...it was only one dance. After that, the party moved next door :)
I hope my opinion helps. Again, overall, it was a great wedding and I had a great time, regardless of my several minor complaints :)

Re: Lombardi's on the bay questions!
I got married there in September...go to the Brides Review Page and you will see my review.
I did not do the set up you are talking about, I did the traditional reception with everything in one room.
I had no issues what so ever with the set up or the dance floor. I had 125 guests, there was plenty of room for dancing all night, even with almost all my guests on the floor- plus DJ and live elements.
The service was amazing, the food was amazing as to be expected from a lombardi's location. I had my ceremony outside which was gorgeous!
if you have any other questions feel free to contact me!

Re: Lombardi's on the bay questions!
I'm booked there! I can't give an opinion on anything really yet haha BUT as far as hotels go the only hotel that will provide a free shuttle with a hotel block is Marriot Fairfield in Medford. I've called every hotel in the area. (Actually.. Crowne Plaza in Farmingville will provide a shuttle I believe but I've heard horror stories about them lately and Lombardi's crossed them off of our recommended vendors list)
Have you decided on a place yet?
