Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
I have been to a wedding there last december and it was really nice....there were a lot of choices for dinner which is not typical. The place was very pretty too!!!

Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
My SIL just had her reception there on 11/3. I thought everything was great, from the food to the service. I have some pics in my album of the reception there. All in all nothing bad to say about it HTH

Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
Went to a June wedding there. Was very pretty. Ceremony was also there, right outside along the sound. Dont really remember the food, but I do remember the cocktail hour was good.

Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
Pretty view and good food.
My parents went to a wedding there recently and said it was nice. Only negative was that they couldn't understand why the drapes in the ballroom were kept closed.
We thought about meeting with them but couldn't get an appointment that was convenient for us and we couldn't get any information over the phone. Since we had to drive from Boston, I thought they could have been more accommodating. In the meantime, we found another place that we loved.

Thank you. We sent in the contract but the drapes are a big thing that has me on the fence about the place. There is such a gorgeous view outside and they have big drapes covering it up. I HATE that!

Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
Congratulations on signing your contract! Maybe you can work with the BM and Maitre D to make sure they open the drapes for you. But don't stress out, the food is good and its a nice location. You will have a gorgeous wedding!!!!

svb...I'm happy to hear that you decided on Lombardi's! I agree about the drapes, i'm not a fan of them either especially since they block the incredibe view. They told me that I could have them opened after they clean up cocktail hour, so I'm assigning my dad to make sure they are open the day of. Afterall he is the father of the bride so i don't think they'll arugue

Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
Thank you , that is good to know that they are flexible about opening them. Someone told me they do not allow votives. Do you know if that is true? Is there anything else I should know or ask about?

Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
I didn't know about the votives. They seem to be strict about certain things though. I wanted to make my own menues, but they told me that I couldn't. She explained to me that in the past they have let brides do that and there has been spelling mistakes which is a poor refelction on Lombardi's. I guess that they want to maintian a certian standard and they give these restrictions in order to do so.
Also if you are thinking about having live music during cocktail hour it has to be set up inside. That has to do with the rules of Port Jefferson Country Club.
Oh and one more thing, if you are planning to take pics on the beach make sure you get a permit from the town. Lombardi's has the applications.

Re: Lombardi's on the Sound
My FBIL got married there in 2004. He was one of the first weddings after the new construction. It was very nice, I missed most of CH because of a babysitting screwup, but it mostly very nice. I used to work for Lombardis and would never give them my business thereafter; the way they treat their employees is a big deal to me.
