Re: london hotel recommendation
The Hotel Senator is nice, and we got a great price for it. The hotel Russel Square is also nice, but a little more expensive.
When are you travelling? What airline are you taking?

My parents stayed at City Inns, which was really nice. But they got a deal through BA. Otherwise I think it's kind of expensive...
There are a bunch of Travel Inns throughout the city and they look pretty nice. There's one near Waterloo, which is a good location if you're going to do the tourist stuff, and another up by Euston station that I'm familiar with.

OOOh I am so jealous. OK so you will be flying into Heathrow then?
There is also a nice quaint very London-esque hotel right outside of Paddington Station ...the Royal National....I actually stayed there when I took my mom there for her 50th B-day. Let me take another look at the stuff I have saved & I will get back to you with more info.
ALSO the Senator Hotel is now the Hyde Park hotel London: hotel
From th website: The Strand Palace Hotel is in the heart of London's Theatreland near many famous tourist attractions such as Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, The Royal Opera House & The London Eye among many others. The hotel is also ideally situated for the business & financial district of 'The City' and adjacent to the worlds foremost legal centre.
We are easily accessible from Heathrow, Gatwick Stansted and London City airports, all the mainline London railway stations and the Eurostar terminal.
The nearest tube is Covent Garden, served by the Piccadilly line and the nearest rail links are Charing Cross & Waterloo.

Days Inn Bayswater was very nice and reasonable. Also the Westminster Hotel in Bayswater. I stayed at both and they very great. They were also in a great neighborhood, near the Tube and Kensington Palace.

We stayed at the Swiss House Hotel in South Kensington. It was very cute, clean and in a great neighborhood. It was also very reasonable. We had a huge room with wood floors on the first floor. I've heard that some of the upper level rooms were much smaller.

I stayed in Jury's Kensingston. It was a really nice place and the people that worked there were nice and helpful!
