I'm gonna say not much. I was a BM a few years ago - we wore long dresses and the bride said we ccould get whatever shoes we wanted and just to dye them to match the dress. That's what we all did, and almost none of us bought from the same place or dyed at the same place. Any differences were minor and no one noticed. Since I would never wear them again, I got mine online for cheap.

The only time the shoes will be seen is when people are walking up the aisle and even then - it's only the tips of the shoes!!!!

Every wedding I have been in the dresses have been long. The dresses I want for my BP will be long and they can choose their own shoes. IMHO I don't think it's fair to make girls buy certain shoes simply because not everyone has the same size foot. (I know from experience of someone with a wide foot.) I don't mean to offend anyone, it's just my honest opinion. I have a wide foot and can't wear every shoe or sandal so it's not fair to me to have to buy a certain shoe because it will look great b/c everyone will have the same shoe even when the dress is covering it.

The shoes do not matter at all. IMO, the shoes don't matter even if your girls are wearing tea length dresses. NO one will notice.

Depends on the color of your dress... I was having the same question running around in my head. When you go to get your dresses, have a couple of your BMs go with you with DIFFERENT pairs of shoes (but the same color) and see what you think. I found it to be very distracting to see black against the red... they're all getting dyeables - but whatever shoe they want.

for my wedding, i just told the girls get whatever shoes they wanted. i didn't even care if the color matched. the dresses were like a sagey green color, and most of the girls got like off white or beige shoes. . NO ONE notiiced!! you couldn't even see the shoes! PLUS, they took them off at the reception anyway. IMO, its one of the last things you should be worrying about

For my wedding I told the girls I could care less what they wore on their feet. I wanted them to be comfy. My BM dress was black, so I figured they all had something to go with a black dress.

For my best friend's wedding, all she asked was for us to wear either silver or gold shoes. (We had cranberry dresses.)

For my SIL's wedding, she chose 3 shoes for us to choose from and have to dye. (We had cranberry dresses.) During the night we were all in so much pain. I broke the blood vessels across both of my feet. I was in agony.

For all the weddings, it was a floor length dress. My suggestion is to let them wear what they want, or at least suggest a color. SIlver goes with a lot of colors. Dyeable shoes are hard to find in a comfy style.

Not too much. I'd say chose a neutral strappy shoe. (black, gold, silver)
