I have to pat you ladies on the back who do long engagements I know a year is the norm for everyone but I just couldn't do it. The planning takes over you we got engaged in August and we are getting married in March that is long enough for me. This wedding stuff makes you possessed and I am going crazy waiting till march i couldn't imagine waiting longer.

we got engaged this august also... and getting married in the beginning of dec 07!! only 4 months for us!!
and i am sooooooo glad that we did it!! it is easily do-able!!

thats awesome wish we could have done it that quick but alot of my family lives in florida so we had to wait till after the holidays

yea .. completely understandable... we took the risk of having it during the holidays.. i really wanted a xmas wedding.. everyone thought we were nuts of having a quick engagement..but its been great!!! its not that hard!

our engagement is 1 year and 5 months......its killing me!! we got engaged on July 3rd of this year and we are getting married December 2008......This December 5th will be our one year mark and i cant wait - just a few more weeks! Hopefully it will start going faster from there.....I couldnt imagine having a 2 year engagement - I am so antsy already!!!

If I had the money, I'd push it forward, but I don't and my parents need time to save money too. So we are waiting 2 years. Its not so bad. I booked the RH and I'll hold off on the rest for a while. Plus, I can get every vendor I want and I don't have to worry about them being booked because we have so much time!

I don't think our engagement is long. I think the average is definitely more than a year. We're at a year and 5 months and that's only because I wanted a fall wedding and it wasn't going to happen this fall lol. Between traveling for my job and school, I didn't want to have the stress of wedding planning on top of it. The pace I'm going right now is perfect.

wow, i thought we were having a short engagement at only 9 months. but it's still over 3 months away, and it's killing me. all the planning is pretty much done, i just want it here already. but the good thing is that we didnt' have to stress about ANYTHING!

I got engaged last july (2006) at this point i just want to get married..it wasn't bothering me that muh last year..but now i just want the day to get here!!!!

I had a 2 year engagement and I think it worked out great. I did everything in the beginning and by the end I could just relax and enjoy being engaged and got to be excited looking forward to the big day

I had a super long engagement. 3 1/2 years. We got engaged but knew we werent going to be able to afford a wedding right after.
