I am going crazy - this is the longest I have ever had my hair since I was 7 years old.
I need advice on how to prevent the excruciating pain of removing tangles after I wash it.
Thanks

Re: Long hair maintenance
Have you tried using one of those leave in spray conditioners? Pantene makes one and it makes it alot easier to brush wet hair after you use it.

Re: Long hair maintenance
Are you leaving the conditioner in for a few minutes? I find that if I leave the conditioner in for a few minutes, and comb through my hair while the conditioner is still there, I have no problems with tangles after...

Re: Long hair maintenance
Brushing my hair before I get in the shower helps. Also, make sure you have a good, wide-tooth comb.

Re: Long hair maintenance
I brush before the shower and use infusium 23 dry hair conditioner, then it works.

Re: Long hair maintenance
I second infusium!!!!!! When my hair was really long, I used the leave-in treatment and it worked like a charm. Be careful not to use to much though...

3rd vote for infusium!!!!! The stuff is awesome and you dont need to use a lot, just a little!

comb through the conditioner in the shower. Also I have used the no more tangle stuff for kids and that works as well!

Re: Long hair maintenance
So I took off to the drugstore just now, and for a total of $32.39, all I got that I wanted was a wide toothed comb!!!! They did not have leave in conditioner, detangler, or Infusium....
A whole bunch of other stuff just fell into my basket.

Re: Long hair maintenance
I have long thick hair and the best advice I got was to shampoo as usual, and then apply a lot of conditioner and comb it while in the shower(Use a wide tooth comb) This works for me better then anything else out there. Good luck!

Re: Long hair maintenance
The wide tooth comb is key - I use one everyday - after my shower, and before I go to bed.
My life-saving hair conditioning product is also a leave-in type. After your hair is towel dried, smooth in some Sebastian Potion 9. It is a miracle product - helps condition, detangles and leaves your hair so shiny!

Re: Long hair maintenance
lolDubliner.. that happens to me every time I go into one of those stores.
I also find leaving the conditioner on for a few minutes and comb it through with the wide tooth comb. It works great.
