Marcela, the first 2 pics - that's exactly how I'm doing my hair but with white Dendrobium orchids and no veil/headpiece. I have that same pic!

Nina: WOW, you're going to look beautiful! That hairstyle is gorgeous and so elegant. When I go get a trial done, I'm taking the picture with me. Good Luck!

Re: long hair styles
Do you think a trial is absolutely necessary? I was wondering because my friend HIGHLY recommended this guy who has a fabulous reputation, BUT he doesn't do trials - for makeup or hair. Her friend got married TWICE and she came out great both times. Plus, her friend's friend (who she said wasn't really that attractive) came out gorgeous for her wedding day. I'm confused! He does speakw ith you first (about likes, dislikes, styles, etc). But, he doesn't do actual trials. I'm confused as what I should do

I think a trial is necessary b/c you don't know if the hairstyle will work well with your face.

Re: long hair styles
That's what I thought too, but my good friend (who understands hair 'importance' as much as me) said she would totally trust the guy if she were me. Maybe she's right - but I don't know. I suppose if I didn't like what he does with my hair on that morning, I could have him change it. But, then, you're taking up time, no?

Re: long hair styles
Well, not only are you taking up time, he may be unable to make something that you like even after a second time. And also, if he is using hair products throughout they may be difficult to undo all in one day. It would jsut be a nightmare waiting to happen.

You're right!! But, I had a trial with Jennifer and she re-did it twice and I still HATED it - THREE HOURS later!!

Re: long hair styles
Ok, so Jennifer is not the only hairdresser on Long Island, is she? and Neither is this guy.. And why doesn't he do trials? What if you pay him? Or if he is a regular hairdresser guy, then tell him you have an event to go to and see what his work is like...
Have you gone to your regular salon and tried their updos? Perhaps that will work. My day of hair person (in NJ) works as a hairdresser in a regular salon, so she doesnt do brides only and updos only.

Re: long hair styles
I actually printed out the picture of Toni Braxton & the girl w/the strapless wedding dress on to bring with me when I go for my trial. I have very curly mid-length hair (hoping it will be longer by the time we get married) so thanks Marcela!

Re: long hair styles
He doesn't do trials because his reputation preceeds him; he's also one of the owners of the salon. he's not conerned about getting paid. apparently anyone who goes to him does so because they were recommended - and because they know he does incredible work. so, i'm told...
i HATE updos!! i went to my regular salon for my brother's wedding, and i hated it. i just wanted one of the longer/wavy styles shown above.
