(LONG) I need tons of help, deciding between rh's

Happy Friday Ladies,
As many of you know I visited plenty of rh locatations within the past 2 weeks. I have spoken about them because not only did I not get that warm and toasty feeling but I alot of the BM's were so condescending and rude! Of course you can FM if you want the details.

FH and I are on a rather tight tight budget However we have created a savings plan where we have overestimated many expenses so the numbers have a lot of padding, as you may recall we have cut out a lot of things that we do not deem as necessary.

Here is the issue.
One place is giving us a fabulous price for to just guarantee 100 but the facility is alright. Another place, although there were parties going on in the rooms and we were not able to see it was amazing, my fh the menu as well as the treats (if you know what I am saying) Their price is about 15 more pp than the other place. They are both within budget but we would save a couple of thousand if we went with the first RH.

Here is another thing.
When we go to RH's we tell them that we are on a budget and we are willing to book in YOUR off-season, also we do not want an open bar.

Based on your opinions for an off-season, Sunday afternoon, with no open bar at a place that sure as heck ain't Oheka, what would you think that the quote should be? if someone says that they don't want liquor at the reception how much pp should you expect them to deduct?

I know this is a long post and I thank you at least for reading it but if you can comment at all it would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch ladies!

I guess it all depends on the place. What RHs are you talking about? For a Sunday afternoon off season no open bar, I would guess around $55 pp. Why are you choosing not to have open bar? To save money? Or to make sure people don't get too drunk at the wedding?

where are you from/looking to have the RH? I have many threads notebooked about RHs. I know that brentwood country club has like a all inclusive pkg for like 9k I think thats what it was & I heard it on the radio-- just tell me what you need in a hall and what area as well as the price pp range you want and ill get back to you! and yes you will save $$ with the open bar but still have it available if the guests want to pay for it -- but many places will work with you-- depending on how much you really want to spend!

I don't know what halls you're looking at but based on it being a Sunday afternoon..in the off-season...with no open bar...

I'd say it shouldn't be more than $50/pp

really when you book a hall..the price is based hugely on date, time of day (a saturday afternoon in may lets say is going to be waaaaaaaaaaaay less than a saturday night), time of year and then the reputation of the hall

if its a popular RH then that does factor into the price a bit..

what halls were you looking at?

Both I guess. I just cannot stand it when I go to a wedding and guys are completely wasted and I surely do not want to have to put someone in their place it they are acting out of character.

Makes sense. I was just asking because if you really wanted an open bar maybe we could have found a price in your budget with open bar, but now we don't have to worry about it!!

When you spoke with the halls, did you tell them you wanted the place without the open bar? They may be able to negotiate the fee.

I would say no more than 50 bucks a person .. and maybe you want to have the idea of having a bar run on a tab .. like they basically pay for the drinks if they want one .. ppl are more reluctant to get drunj when they have to pay for the drink themselves

I would say 50ish pp. I just posted this in the other topic about RH, but maybe you might want to check out Holiday Inn in Plainview. Its 9,999 for 100 guests, this includes video, photo, limo, invitations, dj.. theres the link to the website: http://www.hiplainviewny.com/weddingpackage/ The reason I keep mentioning it is because I believe it truley is a great place for a wedding!

If you are a very tight budget, I would check out Antun's in Hicksville. They are very well known on LIW but they offer some really great prices. I personally was not impressed, however my parents got married there and LOVED it. From memory, I believe I was quoted $45 pp w/o open bar.

GOOD LUCK!
