Long Island Bands?

Hi! We have been looking at a few different bands. Has anyone booked with Skyline Orchestra's or Stan Weist? We just went to Skyline's showcase and saw the bands Rapsody and Skyline, both were great. We dont know what to judge each band by! Please help. Thanks so much in advance!

We were just at Skyline also... I think we are booking them. (Where did you sit??) We were the silly people in the corner drinking
ETA: we are booking Rhapsody, I thought their show was much better, and the quality of their sound was superb. FH and I met in a jazz band, so we are very VERY critical of music quality, and were extremely impressed with their musicality!

I would go and listen to as many bands as you can - you will soon be able to tell the difference between them - You can also talk to people who have used different bands and see what they thought of the band at their wedding or weddings they attended.

I did that and ended up with Times Square Orchestra THey are a vendor on here and everyone I have spoken to loved them.

Just get as much exposure to different bands that you can. My father and I have a musical background - I have played a few different musical instruments and took singing lessons for years. So I was REALLY picky. I noticed if you look around the room you can see if the people appear to be into the band or not. I did NOT think that videos were a good way to judge since they really did not sound as good as the bands really sounded.

I definately agree with Rob-luvs-me. You should go to as many showcases as you can and slowly by going to them you will be able to pick out what style you like. And by looking around the room you can see if other people are enjoying them. I went to soooo many!! I ended up booking PrimeTime Live through LI Paramount. They have several other bands also. And showcase frequently. I would also recommend Body Heat band and through Body Heat Productions I believe they have a few more bands as well. Good Luck!

We used Rhapsody for our wedding and they were amazing! Even our reception place commented on them, saying they were the best band they had heard. My dad actually contemplated having them play for an extra hour to party some more! Any questions, feel free to ask!

We're using a different Skyline band - Code Bleu...we saw them at my cousin's wedding before we were even engaged and loved them so much we decided THAT NIGHT that we wanted them at our wedding. Then we saw them again just to make sure and booked them. I have heard nothing but great things about the entire company of bands! It's all about your taste though - so I'd experiment with different bands and their sound!
Good Luck!

If you want to check out another one, try the Elite Club. We used them for our wedding and they were excellent!! Everyone still raves about them.

We ended up booking with Times Sq. Orchestra after looking at a bunch of bands. Attending showcases is the way to go. You get to truly hear them and see their performance and energy.
