Does anyone know of a good all women's gym in the Westbury, Garden City, Manhasset, Syosset area? I'm just tired of going to Lucille Roberts where all of their machines are like 20 years old!! and i want to find a new gym that has good equipment. I don't care if it is expensive so if you know of any i would appreciate the info! Thanks!

Re: Long Island Gyms
i think that there are no more just women gyms other than lucille roberts.. and believe it or not i used to go to the one in Carle place and there were men there, so i asked why and they said it now is illegal to not let the men in... i go to NYSC in east meadow..60.00 a month but no contract so you can stop when you want.. there are not many young people there so i like it alot. and the pool is great. they have yoga and aqua areobics and spin classes..

Hi Angie - I too am looking around for all women's gyms for my sisters and I to join.. my aunt told me about place called Curves in CT.. they have facilities on LI too that i've called up.. but haven't ahd the chance to go visit...
you can visit them on their website... www.curvesforwomen.com.
Curves is located in Syossset, Huntington and Hicksville among other places on the island...
There's another called Lady of America fitness facilities for women.... with facilites in West Islip and Selden. www.ladyofamerica.com.
Both are only $39.99 a month!
If you visit the facility, please let me know how you liked it!
ps - there's a 14 days trial free at Lady of America.. there's a coupon on their website.
Hope this helps...

If you would consider a co-ed gym, Gold's in Syosset is great. After going there, no other gym will compare. They have great equipment and always update there machines.

Jeanene -
glad i could be of help!
please let us know how you liked the facilities and which ones you visit.. i am currently relocating to western suffolk and haven't had the time to inquire any further.. =) the one closest to me would be in Huntington.. so i hope the facility there is nice!!!
my aunt in CT really likes Curves.. she and her daughter have been going there for over a year now.. they are privately owned, but the owner of her curves facility is fantastic.. she also informs the girls before any man is to enter the building.. my aunt loves that! hehe.. also, probably because she lives in CT and because she signed up over a year ago.. she only pays $29.99 a month and her daughter pays $19.99... great!!! hope my sisters and i can get a family discount too!
take care!
