Long Island Teachers

Hi
I am currently working as a teachers assistant in a Long Island district. However I am a 5 year expereinced teacher who will have her Masters in May. SO the job hunt is beginning again. If any teachers out there know of any job openings coming up, please share the info! Thanks

Re: Long Island Teachers

What is your masters degree in, and what are you hoping to teach?

Re: Long Island Teachers

i would recommend sending your resume/cover letter to every school you're interested in whether they are hiring or not. there are always last minute retirements/maternity leaves/etc. college students tend to send them over spring break in march/april so i would recommend getting yours out before then. you can get a list of every school district on LI online.

Re: Long Island Teachers

Keep checking the NY Times on Sunday.
I also agree with spel. If you go to www.longisland.com
Ckeck under education, and you can get a listing of all the school districts. Pick the ones you are interested in and just send out your resumes/cover letter, and do a masses mailing. That is how I got my position.
If I hear anything with my district I will let you know.
Good Luck!!!!
