long line bra?

long line bra?

First of all, do I HAVE to wear a long line bra if the dress is a corset top?

The seamstress said that's the kind of bra I should get. I thought I could just buy one from the dress store, but my size was a bit small and the next # up was too big in the cups (although it was the same cup size). My co-worker said I should ask if they can attach an extender into it, but just in case they can't, I want to go to my dress fitting on Thursday with a bra.

Where can I buy one from? preferably around Nassau county.

My tummy is not close to being fat, but I think I felt too restricted with the long line bra AND the corset top of my dress.....any suggestions on what to do/what to get?

edited because of wishful thinking I meant: My tummy is not close to being FLAT, haha

Did you ask if they could just sew cups into your dress?? I know a couple of people who did that and they loved it- more so b/c it actually gave them a chest.

now with the above edit, hehe

Do you think if I just have cups sewn in, it will make my tummy look worse?

The corset top does a good job of holding you up and in. No need for a long line.
I wore a regular strapless under my dress just because I wanted some extra support for my big chest. My seamstress velcroed the bra into the dress so the bodice would lie flat across my chest.

If you do want to wear your long line, then a bra extender works fine.

ETA : I wouldn't wear a long line under that dress. I would feel like the boning would show. The corset back usually has hidden boning anyway.
Just wear spanx if you feel you need some tummy control - very important to bring those for your fitting too .

Honestly I got a long line bra and i just wore it for a wedding I was in and I was comfortable dancing in it all night. (not so comfy driving in it though) I am far from having a flat tummy myself and I needed it to smooth it all out under a satin dress. As far as for a bridal gown, they hold you in so much that you may not need one if it is that uncomfortable for you. I don't think the sewn in cups would make your stomach look any different. it all depends on how you feel. I always like to feel '****** in'

I guess I will just wait until tomorrow and see what they can do. I'll try the dress on without long line bra and see how I feel/look and then try it on with the long line and see if they can add an extender.

as always, thanks for all your help girls!

First off, that dress is very beautiful!!!!

Secondly, I do NOT have a flat tummy at all - I decided to wear Spanx (that went up to right under my boobs) AND a long line bra under my dress and it worked out perfectly.

Without the long line bra, my boobs would not have been as high as they were and would not have looked as good in the dress. With a regular strapless, my boobs were too low and we tried it with cups in the dress and still did not look right. With the long line bra, my boobs were nice and high and fit the dress very well - so that's something to consider too.

You're gown is very beautiful!

I went to Georgette's in Hicksville and it was worth getting the long line bra (my gown also had a corset top). Let me tell you it did wonders! I have pics in my review of how I looked.

But if you don't want to go that route with the long line bra- what about Spanx and cups sewn in the gown?

Wherever you do decide to go I would advise against going to Women's Boutique in Hemstead. I had a very bad experience with them that left me crying for a few days after.

It is on 107 south. If you head south on 106/107 pass the mall and head towards 107. it is in a strip mall on your right- it is across from the old Grumann I think.
