ROSLYN HARBORN.Y. - A Long Island nanny was allegedly caught on camera abusing a 7-month-old boy in Roslyn Harbor. Nassau County police said 50-year-old Fook Moy of Elmhurst, Queens was seen on tape shaking and hitting the baby. Police said the woman had been hired on Jan. 2 to watch the baby. In the past week the boy's mother noticed bruises on the wrists and ankles.
The parents had set up a mini-camera earlier so they could monitor the baby, but now they looked at the tape to catch the nanny.
Police said a tape from Jan. 4 showed the nanny shaking the baby, bouncing him on the floor so his legs got bruised, and putting a pillow over his head and punching the pillow.
Police have charged Moy with endangering the welfare of a child.
Moy is free on $500 bail.
The name of the family was not released.

I think I would have to kill the woman!! I'm so glad I have my Mom watching the baby.

You don't have to tell me girlfriend! Even with me working two jobs and Hubby running his own business, it's still very hard $$ wise. And she's at the age where she's doing such cool things, I feel like I'm missing it all

I agree, this makes me SOOOOOOO very thankful that I don't have to leave my kids in someone other than my family's care. But then again I guess it could happen at school, camp, etc, Scary, I'd love to get her alone in a room!!!

That is horrible! The poor baby. This is why I have my reservations about nannies. There seems to be more abuse in a one on one situation then in daycare. At least in daycare there are other adults around. Checks and Balances so to speak. It makes me very grateful that my MIL will be watching our baby. Although, I wish I could afford to be a SAHM.

That is why I would NEVER have a solo nanny caring for my child. IMO daycare is much safer as it is a more organized system where there are many other people around.
