Look what a stranger sent to me in the mail

Original post by kslmbuggie

so apparently this wonderful man received one of my invitations in error. He opened the envelope & removed the ribbon, & mailed the invitation back to me, along with a letter:

Dear Ms. R-,

First off congrats on your wedding. I trust you and your husband will keep eachother happy throughout your lifetime together. I have an invitation that was delivered to my apartment recently but something got screwed up in the process.

Forgive me for opening the letter but I had to be sure of its content. I've asked the neighbors in my building. They did not know this person either. It's such a beautiful work of art. You seem like you put a lot of time and love into it, and it would be a shame for it to go to waste. So I wanted to return it to you.

May god bless you all on your journey together, and be true to eachother. Some people have forgotten about love and values.

Sincerely,

Glenn

P.S. I love wedding pictures. If you have time in the near future this is where you can send them (his email address here)

I emailed him to thank him for returning it to me. I thought this was really sweet of him, and the letter was handwritten.

I honestly don't mean to rain on your parade, but I think it's sort of creepy. I would be totally weirded out by that, but that's just my NYC paranoid attitude maybe.

Ha...I had a fleeting thought like that too. We're all saying aw, how sweet and he's probably some weird pervert. Ahh, the New Yorker in us. No, just kidding. Need to be careful, but, it really could just be a lonely old man being sweet.

Wow! I bet it was an older person, sometimes I wish our generation had some of that elegance...who would take the time to write letters anymore?

Thats soo sweet!! Its too bad there aren't more people out there like that!!

One of my engagement party invites was sent to the wrong address and a man named Ricky Ricardo called to RSVP!! It was hilariuos!! I think it was a joke because the next day the person the invite was meant for, called to RSVP!

The only thing that creeped me out was him asking for pictures!!! That I WOULDN'T DO!! Definitely sweet of him to send back the invite with that beautiful letters... but to send pics to someone you don't know...that's a little weird...JMO

I dont mind emailing him 1 pic. i have my pics all over LIW, myspace, & other websites for the world to see so that part doesnt bother me. Plus, our website was on the direction cards so he probably has already seen pics of us anyway.

That was pretty nice of him...most people would of just thrown it away. He took it into consideration, and sent it back to you figuring that you could send it to someone else!! How nice!! I would send him pictures of the wedding!!!

that was really sweet of him to take the time. I apparently put 32 instead of 38 on my girlfriends save the date and shower invitation....her neighbors didn't even bother to pass it along to her and they are only a few houses away !!! Thankfully she is a close enough friend that she was able to say = Ker, I didn't receive it, but I'll be there !

I toally agree with Gina. That was very sweet of him and he is probably older.

I know some might find it creepy and it can be a little I must admit...but how much of that is that we're just jaded at this stage in our lives and among our generation.

Handwriting a letter is so personal and expressive. I can't even remember the last time I hand-wrote a letter.

That is very kind of him! I really think that he had the best intentions asking for a picture!
