Lookin' gooooooood...

Lookin' gooooooood...

I was just walking to the ladies' room and I passed a guy from another office in my building. I've never seen him before, but he was sort of plain looking with a big pie-face, slicked back hair and all kitted out in a 3-piece suit and attache case. He was young though, probably younger than me. I'm guessing he was on an interview because the whole building is mostly business casual.

Now, I hate passing people in the hallways here because I hate the perfunctory politeness. I avoid eye-contact at all costs. Anyway, I pass this guy and he so blatantly stares at me that I had to shoot him an annoyed/murderous glance. He grins and says...

'Looking goooooooood...' I stopped dead in my tracks, whirled around and said very distinctly 'EW!!' He picked up the pace and hustled outta there mumbling an apology.

Now I ask you, who has used that phrase, 'lookin' good' in the last 30 years?

Just Big Ol' Pie-Face, that's who.

Yes we're sure you are...but for some guy who doesn't know you AT ALL and who may be on an interview for goodness sakes to come out with that our of nowhere...that takes balls! If I were you, I would find out if he was in fact interviewing and relay the little comment on - Sexually harrassing colleagues before you even have the job is REALLY inappropriate. On the other hand...maybe he can protect you from the Slider

As for the actual comment...what did he think you would do if he said that? 'Gee, you really think so? You're not looking too bad yourself, you big hunk of greasy boy in a cheap 3-piece suit! '

Oh Gosh!!!! I think I just threw up a little in my mouth!

Eww!!!

Men can be such jackasses sometimes! How stupid to behave that way when you are about to interview somewhere.

He wasn't interviewing for a job in my office, just in the same building. So I'm not really worried. Mostly I was pissed, I mean really, keep it to yourself dingus! It's not the sexual harrassment that bothers me but the arragont presumption!

... you big hunk of greasy boy!!!!

You know, I have to object to the pie-face thing though. There's nothing wrong necessarily with a pie-face - in fact I've had one all my life and my family is not ashamed to tell me so...my dad used to say it's as if someone hit me when I was a baby square in the face with a frying pan that had a hole in the middle just big enough for my nose. Not quite sure if that isn't a confession....

Anyway, my point is, there is nothing inherently wrong with a big flat round face...now, if you going around sputtering 'looking goooooood' at perfect strangers well, that's another story!

THat's not what my dad says!!

Maybe he's just jealous because he knows I'm not really his kid!

Re: Lookin' gooooooood...

If it looks like you were hit with a pan (which it DOESN'T!!!), why didn't he refer to you as pan face? I mean, logic would dictate that you would be 'pie-face' if and only if you were hit in the face with a pie.

Unless he's referring to the shape of your face rather than the instrument with which it was struck.

Good point...when you described little Snively Pseudo-Fonz, were you referring to the coloring and pigmentation of his facial skin or the shape of his ugly mug? I've heard of people being called pie-face because their skin looked like a pizza....

This may be getting a little technical though.
