looking at venues for the first time
Hi I am currently living in Florida but looking to get married in Long Island. Super excited to be coming up in October to finally look at places. Since its the 1st time I have a question on timing. How long should we allot per place? We are trying to jam pack our day so we can see as many places as possible. Thanks! also any must see venues please add suggestions

I'd give each place at LEAST an hour. And a half hour for travel time between them that way you have a buffer. Some could be more and some could be less, but especially if you're interested and want to ask questions about menus etc, I'd allow at least an hour. Good luck! Where are you thinking of looking?

Thank you that's what I was thinking.... SO far we have a appointment at the Woodlands, Sea cliff manor and going to make one at Lands end. I am leaning towards a mansion feel with 165 people.

I live in Rhode Island, from Long Island, and packed 1 weekend with all of my venue visits. From experience I would say to leave yourself just over an hour at each place (some of my appointments were 30 minutes but others went well over an hour especially at the places we loved) and then consider travel time!We were also looking for a mansion feel and ended up booking at the Bourne Mansion (but ours is 125 people). The Woodlands was actually our 3rd choice! I would also recommend you look into Westbury Manor and Coindre Hall. Our venue, the Bourne Mansion, and our 2nd choice, the de Seversky Mansion, are both gorgeous but pricier than the others -- we had to compromise with a March Friday night wedding instead of the November wedding we wanted in order to afford the place we loved :)
From a fellow out-of-towner, good luck and make sure you also schedule in coffee, breakfast and lunch breaks.... they will keep you sane and help you enjoy the day!!

Congrats and how exciting! I agree with giving yourself about an hour! Since your looking at Lands End, since your in the area you should look at the mansion at Timberpoint. Thats where im getting married, I love the feel and look. Its different yet not too different, if that makes sense. Lol if you go, speak to Miriam shes awesome!! Lol the pricing for timberpoint is great as well, depending on the time your getting married youll be able yo save a lot per person as well. Unfortunately I picked Oct. Lol so since its considered prime time im paying more but its still very reasonable. Good luck and have fun!!! :)

I'm working with Miriam, too, at the Bourne and I agree she is amazing!! Knowing we would be working with her was half the reason we decided on the Bourne between our two top choices.
