FI and I started shopping for houses in San Diego. 3 bdrm houses are going for around $430k-$500k. It seems expensive to me. How much are they on LI?

It depends on where you are looking. You could spend that much in some parts of LI. But you could also spend about $100,000 less. Good Luck

It totally depends on the area and what shape the home is in. I have been looking in Smithtown, Commack, Nesconset, East Northport and 3 BR homes run about $350-$450. In other areas you can pay starting around $250, but the area and school districts will not be as good.
