Looking for a Humidifier

Looking for a Humidifier for my mother. She is sick and she is having problems breathing. We have an older model vaporizer but it is very loud, and on its way out.

I am going to buy a humidifier or a vaporizer after work but I am not sure which model to get. I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on what to get and where to buy it?

I got a Vicks one.
I think I got it at Target.

It's the heated vapor version. I have allergies and frankly I was not used to radiated heat that I got here in New York. I'd always end up waking up coughing in the middle of the night or feeling dry by morning.

I love it.

No real sounds other than a small hiss every now and then but its not a loud annoying hiss.. just a very quiet sound thats not too startling. I know this because I was jumpy for a while after 9/11 and EVERYTHING would wake me up. This never bothered me. Other things did. (birds, cars passing, Ac turning on, heater moving, all sorts of stuff).

I love not having that dry throat feeling in the mornings anymore. Since I bought this Vicks kind of model it has a small area to put in oils to make the room smell nice when Im sick.

I just asked the man..

He says he thinks I may be wrong... we could have bought it at CVS or Target.. he's not sure which.

He says we didnt pay more than about $20.
