So I'm out here on Long Island starting to put together wedding details. Fun, yes! But, a roadbump.
I'm an import to Long Island, moved here a few years ago from the midwest to be with the FH and I don't have really have female friends here. And I don't want to be one of those women who takes her guy with her to pick out her wedding dress.
Does anyone need a second pair of eyes or hands to help with things right now? I'm out in the Farmingville/Holbrook area during the week and on Sunday nights.
FH is out in Nassau in the Hicksville area so I'm around there on the weekends.
Reading this forum is great and helpful but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask around here... some real life chatter about wedding stuff is even better I think.
Thanks guys.

welcome to the area! if you have any questions/need advice feel free to ask, everyone on this board is very helpful. there are usually get togethers that some girls arrange at times so that would probably be a great way for you to meet new people! congrats and good luck w/ the planning

Re: Looking for a new friend!
I'm not officially engaged yet. We are basically at that 'might as well be engaged' stage and it just got to the points where he was like, 'Let's just start looking at places and vendors' because he knows that I don't want to do a long engagement.
Hoping it will happen soon as we'd like to take advantage of warm weather time in 2010 and I don't know what our luck will be with getting vendors.
(We are planning to do a very small, intimate backyard reception @ a family friend's home)

Re: Looking for a new friend!
Awww, I'm always looking for new friends! Wedding related or not.
Def keep an eye out for the G2G's the girls have sometimes on these boards... haven't been to one myself yet, but I'm looking forward..
And I rarely do anything fun, but next time we go out, I'll let you know if you like! :)

welcome to LI! I actually just moved to the Midwest a few years ago, and I can't wait to return to the LI area or somewhere close ASAP :).
