Does anyone know of a nice park or garden on Long Island, most specifically Nassau County to take pictures.
We were going to go to Old Westbury Gardens but it is not available on our wedding day.
Please let me know.
Thank you, T.

Tons of people use the Garden City Park. I passed one Saturday and three different BPs were there!

I second that, but you need a permit to take wedding pics there ($120). If you don't use it, you get a full refund if you give them a few days notice and most of the refund if you cancel the day of (I think they charge a processing fee of a few bucks). Some of my favorite wedding pics were from the arboretum.

I've taken pics at that little park in garden city several times. just shooting. I don't know if you need a permit. I think we might do a pic or two there

St. John's Episcopal Church in Cold Spring Harbor. Its on a lake. My pics were beautiful.
You could also go to the Sands Point Preserve. I took my bridal party there for pictures after the church and the scenery came out great (big mansions and lawns, also access to the beach). If you follow the link to proofs in my review, you can see what the grounds look like.

I just called the Arboretum/Planting Fields in Oyster Bay, they told me to call back in January (for my October 06 wedding). It's $120 for up to 4 cars for 1 1/2 hours. Each additional car is $6.

Do they have a website I can check out?

IMO the allure of the arboretum is not the flowers. I saw wedding pics posted from a bride on LIW and fell in love with the arboretum b/c of the beautiful buildings and archways. If you're expecting a garden with a ton of flowers, planting fields isn't for you. However, there are many beautiful backgrounds for wedding pics there especially all around Coe Hall. If you live nearby, it may be worth checking out sometime. They won't charge you to get in if you tell them you're considering taking wedding photos there and you just want to take a quick look around.

What about Bailey's Arboretum or the Japanese Tea Garden in Locust Valley?
