My aunt, who never had any children of her own, has recently offered to buy my wedding dress and or to wear hers....We both looked at her dress which she hasn't opened from the box in 22 years! It was definitely 80's and not big enough. So she's coming to look at the two dresses I like. However, my mom had asked her if she still had her veil - I thought it was a great idea until I remembered once again - it was an 80's wedding! It had a halo of fake flowers and the short tool in a poof coming out in the back. So basically - I'm looking for any nice ideas to honor her for doing this for me - is there something creative I could do with her veil (which is white and I'm looking at ivory). It doesn't have to be worn as a veil either.....Help!

Re: Looking for a special idea
I have something similar going on....my mom and grandma both wore the same wedding dress, but they both weighed about 90 lbs soaking wet and my big butt could never fit it. So then I thought about the veil, but same deal, its so old. So finally I settled on possibly taking some of the dress fabric and using it as a wrap for my boquet. Maybe you could do the same?

Or possibly if she doesn't mind get the veil material dyed and have it reattached to a comb (without the puff)

Could you make a 'card bag' with either some remnants of her dress or her veil? Could be a sweet idea!

Right, or you could use the dress/veil to wrap the card box, or make ribbons for your cake server, or to wrap the favors... If she's gonna let you cut it into pieces you could use it all over.
