Looking for Hair Person that can travel to Forest Hills, Queens

Anyone have any good hair person suggestions. My wedding is coming up in less than 2 months and I have yet to find anyone.

I plan to just have my hair in waves and partial up, but people are charging SO much.

Just looking for a reasonable price, and someone that can do a good job.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks.

Re: Looking for Hair Person that can travel to Forest Hills, Queens

I actually used Stacy Pitt, she was great.

What about using someone from one of the FH salons? They might be much cheaper than bridal hair-specific vendors. I once sat next to a girl getting her hair done at Spectrym Salon on Austin, they did this really complicated half-updo and it came out fabulous. Since you are local they might even travel to your place, or open up the salon early for you or something. There is also a salon on Austin and Ascan, I remember seeing a sign in the window about how they have someone there that does bridal hair.

I thought about a salon in the Forest Hills neighborhood. But I haven't been living in Forest Hills (actually NYC in general) for too long and have no idea where to look for one. Just walk around Austin St. and browse salons?

Re: Looking for Hair Person that can travel to Forest Hills, Queens

Just wanted to give a shoutout to the place that did my hair and makeup. They are in Ridgewood, very close to Forest Hills. They were SOOOOOO wonderful! I received SOOOOO many compliments on my hair and makeup, people keep asking me where I got it done. And I did this WITHOUT a trial!!!!!! If anyone is looking for hair and makeup in Queens, this is THE place to go!!!!

The owner's name is Vita; her mother is the make-up artist. Both hair and makeup was OUTSTANDING! Especially the make-up. It stayed on all day and I didn't need to touch it up; just my lips a few times. We passed out when we got home so I didn't take my hair out or makeup(I know, a bog no-no) and the next day the hair was still holding and make-up was still good!

Re: Looking for Hair Person that can travel to Forest Hills, Queens

The person that did my hair and makeup travels. She works out of her old home in Jackson Heights, and lives in Glendale, but she is willing to travel. Look at my review for pics of how my hair came out, and FM me. I am actually getting my hair cut and colored on Thursday so I will see her if you want me to mention anything

Yup! Take one nice afternoon and walk up and down Austin street between roughly Ascan and the NYSC and you will find at least 5-6 salons, some fancier than others.
