Looking for ideas for a baking themed bridal shower.
Hi ladies! I am an 08 bride here planning my sister's bridal shower. I want to do a baking theme and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. I already ordered invitations that have a picture of a cake on them. But I need more ideas! Any fun things you can think of for centerpieces, favors (I was thinking maybe heart shaped measuring spoons), games, decorations etc?

Just a thought maybe cookie jars as a center piece for someone at the table to bring home? I went to a wedding that gave out cookie mix as a favor and it came with a wisk. HTH

There are lots of ideas! I would have all the prizes be cooking themed. Aprons, oven gloves, whisks, wooden spoons etc. What could be cute is as part of the plate set up (if you are doing a sit down) is next to the regular spoons you could have a wooden spoon and it could be part of the favor. You could use cooking ingrediants as centerpieces. A spilled over bag of flour, chocolate chips, etc - things that she can these use in her pantry. If you want to do a fancy cake you could have someone bake a cake in the shape of cooking utentials and such. Or make the cake thin and flat like a cookie tray and then put 'cookies' made out of cake on it.

I agree with the cookie jars being a cute centerpiece that can end up being favors for guests. Or if you want you can alternate and do different kinds of baking things at each table and name each table after it like bake a different kind of cake, put it on a pretty cake stand and name the table after the cake like table 1 devils food chocolate cake, table 2 red velvet, etc. I love how cake centerpieces look because they all look different. For favors you can always do cookies and milk but have the milk in like old fashioned glass jars or mason jars and have the milk displayed on ice in an old fashioned tin bucket. Hmmm....there are lots of cute ways to do this theme...great idea to choose this!

oooo i just got another idea. you could ask all of the guests to email you a dear to their heart baking recipe and you can put all of those recipes together and make a book for the bride and put each person's name with the recipe they chose like 'Aunt Pam's famous cheesecake' and 'Nicole's favorite apple pie'....stuff like that. You can get books like the bound and made online for a good price and they come out so cute

Michaels by me anyway has a whole aisle of cute things that make me think of favors. They have adorable mini casseroles that I just got for my friends shower, and they have whisks and spatulas too. I took some pics while I was there

ITA with a previous poster about prizes being baking related things...did a brunch shower a few years ago and got a TON of kitchen-related brunchy prizes...from pot holders, cooking tools to jars of jams and syrups. It'd be easy to do that with the baking theme! We went to a ton of dollar stores and Ikea and got a ton of things like that in the colors of the shower (yellow and red).
The favors were brunch cookbooks and the centerpieces were flowers in glass pitchers.

Such a great idea! Someone I work with just got invited to a casual wedding brunch and in the invitation, on a seperate card, they asked if each guest could bring recipe for the bride as well as one of the ingredients for it. Sounds like this might work for you. Good luck planning

For my shower they did a modified wishing well...
my MOH wrote a poem about how I love to cook and inserted it along wtih a blank recipe card in the invite. They asked each guest to write out a recipe and then bring 1 ingredient from the recipe to the shower. I ended up with some great recipes and truthfully, a lot of useful ingredients. You can do this but specify that it shoudl be a baking recipe! Let me know if you want to do this and I'll see if I can find the poem!

I once saw where the placecards were mini rolling pins, I thought that was great!
Also, you could do a recipe type thing where you ask each guest to bring their favorite recipe on an index card and you can get a beautiful recipe box and give it to her. That way she can have recipes from all her family and friends! Haha, didn't see the post right above mine. Sorry for the redundancy!

Someone recently got me a set of measuring spoons shaped like an engagement ring as a little engagement gift. I think that would be a cute shower favor.
For my cousin's shower we did heart shaped measuring cups.
I LOVE the idea of bringing a recipe and one ingredient!
