Looking for Long Island Beach wedding location with specifics....
Hello! My boyfriend and I just got engaged and we would like to get married on the beach on Long Island (not TOO far from Massapequa, where my parents live, like the Hamptons or north/ shore beaches. I've looked at a number of websites, but I would like to find a place that will have a ceremony on the beach, then have the reception in huge and beautifly decorated tents so the reception can be outdoors.
Are there actually any reception places or hotels out there that will do all this?
Out of the places I've looked at, I've found either the places will have a beach wedding ceremony, then you move into a reception hall, or there are places that have a tent reception with no beach for the ceremony!
Any suggestions? Thank you!

places on the beach,
Atlantica, Land's End-outside ceramony, outside cocktail our Cheateau La Mer- can have outside ceramony/cocktail hour crest beach club-not sure , but its on the beach Lombardi's on the sound

I'm not sure about getting married on the beach in a tent I thinkyou might need to hire a catering company and you would need to get permits to hold the party on the beach...

I looked into Crescent Beach Club for my RD (we don't have enough people, not even for the restaurant!!) and it's a great beach location, IMO.

Crescent is beautiful--ceremony outside but reception is inside CONGRATS on your engagement!!

Honestly, I think you are going to have a tough time finding that on the West end of the Island. You'd have a lot more options if you went East into Suffolk.
Perhaps contact some event planning companies and maybe you could do it on Fire Island?

I had an outdoor tent wedding in Hampton Bays...it was on the water (but not the beach) but i took pics on the ocean before..the ocean is right down the road...here are some pics...and a link to my review for more info...it may be close to what you want.

Actually, the Hamptons is definitely an option...I just don't want to travel more than an hour and a half or so from Massapequa...my mom found the Crescent on this website..it does look beautiful...we're definitely going to have to take a look at it.

Don't know where the Trump at Jones Beach project stands. Are there any venues in Long Beach?

Last I heard, as of 3/08, they were still actually reviewing whether or not to build the Trump restaurant...

At the Crescent you can get married on the beach. The cocktail hour is inside outside on the deck and they open the doors on the inside room so it opens right to the deck. The reception is upstairs with a small deck on the back of it, and you can walk down to the beach from there.

i think trump is opening in late 2009 but not sure, the only venue i know of in long beach is the Sands at Lido Beach

Look at the Pavillion at Sunken Meadow. You have the ceremony on the beach and the reception on the boardwalk.

Sunken meadow has no air conditioning if that matters.
Bridgeview is an Island park but no beach. A friend of mine might just get married on the beach in long beach and shuttle everyone back to Bridgeview for the party. I think you just need a permit to marry on the beach there

Contact the Old Field Club. They have a beach down the road that I think they have rights too. Maybe you can do the ceremony there? Not sure, just an idea.

try atlantica in the hamptons on dune road in westhampton i think.. It's beautiful inside.. check the website pics and video
