My sister had an apartment in a complex on Clinton (off of Willis Ave) at one time. They're were pretty nice, maybe you can see if they have anything available.

A girl I work with lives in the Fairhaven Apartments in Mineola right off Old Country Rd. next to the Country Glen Center. One bedrooms start about $1400 though.

There are a TON of nice apt buildings in Mineola - most are co-ops that sublease and 2 are condos that you own.
Not sure of their number but Random Real Estate in Williston Park has a lot for lease, as does Valentine Agency in Mineola.
The avg price I think now for a 1 bdrm is about $1400. There aren't too many available for 2 bdrms.
