looking for musicians...
Hello Ladies, I am looking for classical musicians to play at my ceremony and coctail hour. Any help would be appreciated. I have no idea where to start on this one!

http://www.hoflink.com/~jdvogel/ It's Island Classical Ensemble. We booked a flute, violin and cello trio for our October wedding. $750 for 2 hours. Sterling music is also great, comparable pricing, Peter Howard Classical Ensembles has a good rep as well, but they're more pricey. Also, Elena Rojas is very reasonable. I no longer have the numbers for these people, but if you're interested in any of them I'm sure someone else here has the info!! Good luck! :)

Another option
If you are looking to save some money you can call one of the local college's music schools. They usually have a list of students who play at functions like weddings and such. It gives them a chance to perform and it gives you a lower cost alternative. Just a suggestion.

Stef, do you know any colleges that do that?
I do not live on LI right now, so I would have to send my Mom on this mission. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

JessM, I would call SUNY Stony Brook School of Music. We were going to use someone from there for our cocktail hour but then we just decided to do something different. They have a good music program there, and I believe they have the list of students who are available to perform at weddings and such. Also Dowling College may have a good music program as well, even try Hofstra. Good Luck!

I'm using Stonybrook musicians
I called Stonybrook's music department and they were very helpful. They asked what instruments I was interest in and game me names and phone numbers for them. We are using a flutist and a classical guitarist ($300 for an hour). Our flutist also regularly plays weddings with a trio (violin and cello, I think).
