We are trying to broaden our search. Any thoughts? How's the neighborhood, what school districts are in the area? Any parts to avoid?

Re: Looking for opinions on Farmingdale
I'm from Bethpage, but I do know that Famrigndale has a nice library. My family likes to go there instead of the Bethpage one!
Sorry, I don't know much more than that!

We are in contract with a house in Farmingdale right now. We should be closing any week now. The area seems really nice. The house is located in the nassau county part of farmingdale. Very close to N. Massapequa.

I'm in N. Massapequa, and not too far from Farmingdale. There is Farmingdale Nassau, and Farmingdale Suffolk. It's split into two. Farmingdale is actually a pretty big area.

Re: Looking for opinions on Farmingdale
I've heard that the schools there are great. One of my co-worker's wives (who is also a teacher) visited an elementary school there to check out a program they were doing, and was really impressed by the atmosphere. The kids and teachers seemed very happy, she said, and everything was running very smoothly.

Re: Looking for opinions on Farmingdale
Grew up there, parents still live there. GREAT schools, great town, everything is accessible. If you are looking, try to stay in the Lenox Hills area (by Bethpage st. golf course) or the area off of Woodward Parkway. Area called Viceroy is also really nice.
Parts are part of the Inc. Village (generally Lenox Hills and a few other parts). Take a drive through the village - nice atmosphere.
